I like how the school offers many different types of clubs, activities, and sports. There is always something for everyone's interests and needs. The teachers are hands on and are dedicated to seeing everyone succeed. The guidance department has been super helpful in preparing students for college and getting through the application process.
River Dell is average. Some good teachers, some bad. The history and science departments seem good. The math department sucks though. If you’re interested in math and like taking math classes, good luck. The math teachers, in particular, are hard to understand, and some can’t teach either. If you are a kid with an IEP plan in place, this school isn’t for you. You will be stuck in a deep hole of no improvement in classes and teachers will look down on you for having that IEP in place. Also, River Dell is very sexist, racist, and homophobic. They claim to be open to all, when they are open to people who are like them. There are better schools nearby you could go to.
River Dell is a surprisingly good school. I've only had a handful of bad teachers, and that's an accomplishment. Teachers, especially in senior year, are extremely understanding, and most decent ones work to find time for you to work and be successful. Curriculum is good, facilities are decent besides the annoying underclassmen that trash it monthly, and extracurricular are left, right, and center. There's a club for everybody, even though the Anime Club somehow has more educational value than an Esports Club. Overall a great school for your kid to go to, but the school does have a vaping problem among the kids. Football team is stunning. Drama Club is full of hard workers with talent that comes in waves. Art is everywhere. Pretty good school.
