River Bluff High School is a state-of-the-art high school that provides endless opportunities for personal and academic growth for all who attend. From the facilities to the teachers, there is so much to love about this school. I enjoyed every year that I was there, specifically because of the softball team and clubs I was involved in. There is a lot of opportunity to begin clubs/organizations that you are passionate about. I also learned so much about time management thanks to the integration of Independent Learning Time (ILT). I am very proud to be a Gator!

River Bluff High School stands out among other schools in its region due to its excellent implementation of EL standards. Expeditionary learning or EL is a style based on gaining worldly experience through expeditions. These expeditions range from making and advertising inventions to doing full analyses on mental illnesses and presenting them to a group of professionals. These special activities encourage excellence among students, and allow them to grow more as compared to other schools. The classes at river bluff are specialized and varied. River Bluff is home to both the Media and Law center of Lexington 1 school district. These centers have special classes that focus on their respective fields and nurture students to be able to enter the field immediately out of high school. Finally, the clubs of River Bluff are student led, and cover a wide range of interests. Club activities are typically well funded, and allow for more experiences among students.
I am a senior at River Bluff High School in Lexington, South Carolina. My school has made an impact on me as well as other students, and has changed my outlook on life ever since I started in August of my freshman year. River Bluff promotes the Habits of Success - which happens to be citizenship, personal responsibility, growth-mindset, collaboration and relationships, and excellence. Each habit is better explained in what we call CREW (Creating Relationships and Exploring Within), which is similar to a homeroom - the same classmates and teacher for two years. Together, we participate in acts of community service, spreading awareness about serious issues, having impact conferences, and having the simplicity of getting to know one another and building each other up. The flex mod schedule helps students to practice time management and prepare for college. River Bluff is well known around town for doing acts of good - and doing it with the heart.
