Rippowam is community of educators and students who care! A challenging, relevant curriculum engages students in real world conversations and challenges. We have experienced every grade, 5-9 and could not be more impressed with the outcome for each of our (very different!) children. They are challenged, encouraged to take intellectual risks, think critically and analytically and step up to take on leadership roles. All along the way, they are supported and feel known as individuals. Their teachers know their strengths, know when to push them further and know when to adjust to their specific needs in the moment.
Ripp empowers its students with confidence, empathy and critical analytical and communication skills (they become powerful writers and speakers). They are learn real leadership skills and leave poised to succeed in high school.

In addition to having a strong academic program, the intangibles are really what make this school special. Every teacher knew my child, how he learns, his strengths and weaknesses, when he needed additional support and how to push him further, especially when being lazy! My son had great relationships with his teachers, awesome friends and although we live 30 minutes from school he/we felt like we were part of the community. Was it perfect all the time? No. But most of the time it was pretty close! And when he graduated last year, he got into the school he wanted, is doing really well and most of all, has turned out to be an amazing person, in many ways due to his academic achievements and the vibrant community that let him be himself while providing a safe and challenging space for him to grow and learn.
This is a “boutique” school experience. They know your child better than you do. No one falls through the cracks. Middle school at Ripp is a time of joy and leadership, not dread. Rippowam produces confident public speakers, curious learners, polite citizens. Every family is known and heard. Amazing community. Been there 15 years- on fourth child and it’s been our ROCK.
