There was a lot of ethnic diversity and many people had a specific racial group that they hung out with, like Mexican or African American or Asian. However, most groups were welcome of students of different ethnicities. There was sometimes minor peer pressure. Students tried their best to be involved with school and with each others' personal lives.

At this school, we had a nurse that we knew we could go to if we were seriously injured. We practiced drills for fires, intruders, etc. Some emphasis was put on how to discourage bullying. We needed more instruction on personal safety. Overall, it was somewhat safe.
There were a good amount of different clubs available, from theater to sports to languages. There were religious clubs and more fun clubs. We had a club day at lunch once a month and the activities did have staff support.
