I'm a sixth grader at Ridgely Middle School. It's an amazing school! I love it here at RMS. There is no bullying, the teachers are so nice, and I've made so many new friends. I have learned so much and the curriculum is great. The new grading policy is confusing though. The only bad thing I have to say is that the hallways are too narrowing and are always crowded. I would recommend this school to anyone.

There were many extracurricular activities that students can participate in. My favorite experiences in this school were made during field day when there are no classes and the students can just hang out with each other and some of the teachers. It's a relaxing day that is given to us students after all the hard work we've been through throughout the year.
(Speaking only for non-honors classes) the teachers are uninvested in the students, unable to actually TEACH and certainly unable to inspire a love of learning, and unwilling--or unable--to crack down on misbehavior (and the misbehavior can be horrible). During a recent visit, I was stunned to witness utter chaos in a classroom--and a teacher who couldn't control it at all. But the worst part may have been that several students were sitting in the hall working on the assignment because they couldn't concentrate in the classroom.

Fist fights have become commonplace, including IN the classroom. It sometimes takes more than one teacher to break those up. The school is over-capacity, and a quieter child or one who gets overstimulated may have a really hard time coping at RMS. School spirit and a sense of community is sorely lacking. There are very few school-wide events to foster those things. The administration doesn't care; teachers don't care; students are unhappy.
