The teachers overall are quite nice. They are thoughtful and do their best to help their students. I've personally have had more positive experiences than negative experiences. However, on numerous occasions, I have been faced with discrimination and racist remarks. This is, unfortunately, not uncommon as I originally thought because I have heard similar and/ or worst stories from other students.
I like the pride we have in our school, it makes things like the football games super fun and exciting! Our student body is very bonded and most everybody is super nice.
Throughout my years I was never too fond of even going to school. I hated the idea of waking up early, sitting for 6 hours, and interacting with so many people. At Ridgefield High School, I feel like that dynamic was different and more enjoyable. We have a pretty good range of classes to take and I always felt like I could find something I'd enjoy. I was able to do my favorite sport(gymnastics) which not a lot of schools have so that was a plus. Teachers were almost always a good experience, you can tell they put their students above. Going into a pandemic I feel as though the district did a good job of bening inclusive to everyone, ranging from providing free technology and also providing free meals. If I somehow had to redo my high school years, I'd still choose to go here.
