Ridge Point High School Reviews
Rating 4.06 out of 5 557 reviews
Ridge Point High school is the best representation of what a school should be. The academics are top-notch, they have a variety of clubs to choose from, and the teachers care about your success. My AP Spanish teacher always ensures we turn in our work on time and her curriculum enabled me to be fluent in the language! My calculus teacher gives us personal advice to ensure we succeed in high school and beyond. Ridge Point also has an outstanding sports program; the coaches do whatever they can to make you the best athlete possible. One thing I would change about Ridge Point is that some of the STEM teachers make the courses more interactive, so learning becomes an enjoyable experience, but honestly, Ridge Point is the best!
I did enjoy my time there, it was always interesting. There was a very diverse community, and there seemed to be no discrimination. The teachers they hired were, for the most part, adequate. I did have teachers who would make multiple mistakes while trying to teach us, which caused confusion in the class, and caused us to look elsewhere for slightly more insight. Also, the school was extremely sports and athleticism-based. The sports announcements would always get huge applause and attention. They had their announcement made just for them. Fine Arts, from my point of view, was heavily shadowed.
I started attending this school in the middle of my sophomore year. I had a great time making friends but there were constantly multiple fights every day and people would also pull the fire alarms making everything come to a halt. They have greatly reduced this issue today but one thing that is still causing issues is the teachers and our workload. Multiple students have reported teachers for acting in inappropriate manners to their counselors but there is nothing the school can do since it is short-staffed. With the workload, teachers assign a take-home assignment every day which piles up really fast when you have six classes and then work on top of it. There is barely any time to take care of our personal needs and do our daily tasks because we have so much homework that is arguably pointless and not enriching. I just believe that the senior year should have accommodations for workload especially when we are trying to apply to collages.
