I enjoyed my time spent there. Especially with the IB program which allowed me to form such a tight knit bond with my peers. It was a valuable experience where I learned from my teachers and matured into the adult that I am today. However, before the principal was changed, there weren't many fun activities and flexibilty within the school setting. I'm glad that to see the current students are having more fun and are experiencing more vivid moments. Although it is a relatively smaller school compared to Central, you get to familarize yourself with the teachers and students on a better level. Plus, you're less likely to have anxiety in finding the classrooms. The teachers are excellent and so relatable!

Richwoods is an open and diverse high school with many classes and activities. I moved to Illinois during my sophomore year, but soon I saw many opportunities open for me. I am involved with the arts. Such as band, and theatre. I worked with a lot of great and passionate musicians while honing my education as I decided to move into enriched classes my senior year. I found the teachers really determined to help students work harder. I have found my senior year at Richwoods high school to be my most academically challenging, and most hard working year yet.
“The Standard of Excellence.”A phrase that my principal Mr.Brett Elliot wanted Richwoods High School to be known for. The atmosphere of the school was so positive all the time even on the worst of days, he always wanted to help someone in some type of way. Energetic morning announcements, asking how our day is going ,and even standing outside in the rain, snow, and shine to greet over 1,300 kids. EVERYONE was involved with the school, the lunch employees and janitors felt the love from students and staff. The teachers really pushed me to do my best, I never felt more prepared for an AP exam, considering I decided to take my first AP class my senior year. No matter your skin color, your sexual preference, or your religion. You’re accepted at Richwoods High School and I’m happy I’ve been able to attend all fours years at the best school in Peoria Illinois.
