I liked that they had several teachers who reached out to students and affected their lives. They have several programs that help students get involved. Such as art club, Leo club, chemistry club, and BETA club. This helps include more students with different interests. Their teachers are very interactive with the students. One of the most influential teachers would be Mr. Robert Ainsworth. He is the chemistry teacher and he connects with the students in a different way than other teachers.
Throughout my years at Richland, I have had to learn on my own due to the chonstant interruptions during the class. The inerruptions would very from the administartion to the students. Part of the problem for the students was their name. If you had a family member or everyone knew your last name, you could get away with anything. If the teachers were to punich that particular student, the teacher would get in trouble. What I would like to see change at Richland School would be, no matter what your last name is, who you know, and how you are related to someone you will be treated the same way as everyone else.
My experience being at Richland for 13 years has been up and down of course. School is not supposed to be easy, it is supposed to prepare you for middle school, high school, and college. I am a senior at Richland. When something bad or good happens in our community, we come together and it is like a huge family. Like families, we argue, we disagree, but we also love each other unconditionally. We may be a small school, but we have proved to be one of the best with our test scores and our sports teams. My favorite part about being a Raider is whenever I am going through a rough time, whether its at home, school, or somewhere else, there is always someone to bring me up and to put a smile on my face. There is so much to say about our little school, but to summarize it, it is overall a school that I would never trade or wish to go anywhere else!
