I had a great experience at RMHS! I am a rising senior in the IB program, and I have to tell you, the program teaches you how to write 10 page papers as if they are nothing. I personally don't like writing but have gotten pretty good at it because of this program. You may had heard of a big essay that seniors have to write in IB, but as noted before, RM makes you very good at expanding a lot on very little content, so there are students who can write this essay in a few hours. The teachers here are great and offer help to students that need it. Additionally, RM has a vast array of clubs for essentially anything imaginable. I highly recommend joining as many clubs as you can freshman year and then choose ones that you want to commit to for the rest of high school. However, one downside is that, especially in the IB program, students tend to become very competitive once college application season. Competition aside, I've met some amazing people here and grew as a person!

I️ have had an amazing experience in RM’s IB Program! It is vigorous yet it is full of fun ways of learning that help make ones high school experience overall more exciting. One thing I️ would change is the amount of testing that students have to endure especially as an IB student. There are IB tests, AP tests, SAT, SAT subject tests, ACT and quarter tests. Standardized tests are not an accurate measure of ones intelligence and potential. Engagement, personality, determination, work ethic and experiences make up who you are. No test can accurately determine whether or not one should get into a specific college.
I was part of the IB program at Richard Montgomery High School, and I really liked it! RM had so many opportunities for students, and I'm glad I went there!

Benefits:
~Amazing staff (barring a few people)
~Lots of clubs for you to be involved in
~Right next to Rockville Town Center and has an open lunch
~A wide variety of classes
~Mrs. Hull is an angel

A few downsides:
~There was a huge disconnect between the IB and the regular school (almost a "school within a school").
~People in the IB were super competitive and there were a few really toxic people who would murder you to get into college
