My experience at Reuther high school was average. The teacher and some of the staff was the highlight. They are very caring and help the student that attend. The students on the another hand are...very cliquey, many of the times the students had their friends and group and were very open mind to the others. Many of the kids were rude and disrespectful. And some were just very problematic and in they’re own world. I would recommend the school for people who need extra help in credits or students who just want To be done with high school.
This school is awesome teachers will support you throughout the whole time if you struggle this is the school for you and the art program here is awsome!
Very great school, Reuther Central provides awesome class sizes that are manageable so there is more one-on-one talk between students and teachers for better learning experiences. There are also lots of ways to connect with the staff and peers. Reuther Central helped me a lot when I used to be shy and did not like to be around many people, where now, I am social with everyone and I have made lots of friends.
It's a great school, when I was on the outside looking in, it seemed weird, but once I Was attending it really is a great school. There is an amazing sense of community and the teachers are wonderful. The schedule is perfect for me and would definitely recommend this school.
I was enrolled in the Reuther Transition Program, or in other words, credit recovery. The two teachers who worked with me, Tina and Kim, made my experience amazing. They are very helpful, and so sweet. What I liked about the transition program, was that I could work through multiple classes at my own pace. This allowed me to finish them in a short period of time. On the other hand, I would change the overall school's student behavior. I know that it hard to correct, and that can be expected when attending a public school. Other than the students, my experience was very delightful, and it allowed me to get on track to graduation. As of now, I am at the top of my class!
The teaching techniques teachers use at Reuther are mostly hands on. The teachers at Reuther will not let you fail, unless you want to fail. They help you inevitably to understand the materials being taught. They're knowledge and real world sense is so real and genuine. Consistency in grading homework on a scale 1-10 is about an 8. You turn homework in the same day that it's handed out and it will be graded the night after or the next day. Interest in students individually teachers have are down to Earth and genuine.
If possible, I would give this school a 10/10. I came here my sophomore year with only 3 credits, a low GPA, and no friends. I was scared and I didn't know anyone. I wasn't in any clubs or programs until my music teacher urged me to join guitar ensemble. I joined, and fell in love. Playing with the guitar ensemble was my favorite thing. Everyone in the group became my friend, and the teacher did too. We went on many trips and had many memorable performances. Being in guitar ensemble motivated me to be more social, which helped me make even more friends. Also, guitar ensemble motivated me to keep my grades up. If you weren't passing your classes you couldn't be in it. In just my sophomore year, I earned nine credits- something I never thought I could do so easily and quickly. Now, I am a junior. I am an early graduate. It is only my second year at Reuther, my third year in high school, and I am set to graduate this fall. If I could do it all over again, I would DEFINITELY come to Reuther. It is the best experience in school I've ever had.
The teachers at this school are very friendly and approachable. If I ever have a problem, I can name a handful of teachers I could go to for help. They are always trying to make assignments fun for the students, and the lessons are easy to understand but still teach you. The consistency in grading is good, the grades are updated daily by some teachers, but they're also humans and cannot be perfect, so some teachers might take a while to put assignments in the grade book. The thing I love most about the teachers here is their communication and interest with the students. The teachers are very involved in our lives and are always looking out for us to make the right decisions.
There are not a great deal of extracurricular activities available to students at this school.
This school is a charter school and so sports and other extracurricular activities are not emphasized. If students want to participate in sports, they have to do so at their home school.
For the most part, my children are exposed to a range of different concepts and subjects. I don't know too many public schools that emphasize creationism over evolution just because of the church and state issue. I know that for the most part my children are free to share their thoughts, opinions and ideas.
I work a lot so I don't have extensive involvement with the school. The involvement that I have had in the past with my children has been a good experience. I would choose this school again for my children because it is a smaller school and my children do have the opportunity to get involved in many different community events, field trips, etc.
I have never had any major health or safety issues with my students. I have heard many things about students being bullied, and I know from past experiences that bullying is a major problem in most schools and administrators are still trying to figure out how to deal with it effectively.
The resources and facilities are not the best. The school is located in a low-income area and it is like most schools in areas like these. The students do not have top-notch resources.
The food really isn't all that great. They separated the lunches: freshmen and juniors in the first floor lunch room and sophomores and seniors in the second floor lunch room. Since I am a senior, I have to eat on the second floor. I've heard that the first floor lunch room gets better food, nachos everyday, ice cream, cookies. Where we get a nasty looking chicken patty, a dry cheeseburger, a salad that you can taste all the preservatives, and a little sub sandwich. None of which is very appetizing at all.
