Republic High School is very accommodating to the students offering a wide variety of classes. They give each student an equal opportunity to excel in programs and classes with their Honors program. Overall, the environment created is helpful and understanding. They try to inform each student about what they can do to have a better future. One outstanding aspect of Republic High school is their preparation for the student's ACT. Each year they do two practice ACTs and in the student's junior year they will pay for them to take the ACT in the building. The only issue with the Republic High School is its attention to future pathways. While they are excellent in preparing students for the ACT, they lack preparing the students for college. I feel it would greatly benefit them to give class meetings or some sort of presentation to the students that shows them college pathways and what to expect. Therefore, the students would be aware of what classes and majors to consider.
I absolutely loved attending Republic schools all through my life, but my high school experience was nothing short of a dream. I have never felt so welcomed by my teachers and the staff and that's such an incredible feeling. School should be an enjoyable environment that makes it easier for students to learn and Republic High School does just that. They offer such a diverse election of learning experiences and many include being hands on. I have been a part of their Agriculture program going on my fourth year and it has taught me so much and allowed me to be very hands on. In my four years in the program I have helped build a farm their with pigs, chickens, and cattle. It's such a beautiful experience to be able to do that in a high school, especially because that's what I want to do in life. Republic High School is an overall amazing campus where you are sure to be greeted with a smile and warm welcome. I am so lucky to have attended RHS and am sad my time their is almost over.
Though there are many wonderful teachers at Republic, this is a district that overworks its staff under the premise of "WINning" the day. There is a clear social hierarchy at this school with those who have connections within the district, however, in my experience, this is simply how smaller towns are. Republic High School is overall decent, perhaps slightly above average because of its wonderful teachers.
