Very small school with super friendly staff. The school is very outspoken which in turn tends to mean that the environment is extremely PC. Great if you want 1 on 1 attention with all your teachers but can be really frustrating if you don't find your group of friends because cliques form fast.
Repertory Company HS is the PERFECT school for those who have interest in the arts. Your mind will opened up, academically and artistically, and they will push your to your fullest potential. The school is very inclusive and diverse in every aspect. The staff are kind and always there to help you with anything you need. It is truly an amazing school.
What I loved most about Repertory Company was the diversity. Prior to coming to Repertory I came from a school that was very ignorant as well as people from my own community. Once I got to Repertory, my mindset and open mindedness had changed completely for the better. The people that I surrounded myself with made me better and helped me learn more about myself. I am grateful for attending school due to the shift that opened mind to other people’s ideas and opinions other than my own.
Repertory Company High School for Theatre Arts is a diverse performing arts high school. The students here are usually interested in, musical theater, drama, music, dance, or some combination of those areas. Some are even interested in technical theater. What I personally like about Rep is that it is truly a diverse schools in both culture and styles. There’s so many types of people. However, something at Repertory I think should change is our amount of AP classes. We currently offer AP Lang, AP US History, AP Bio, AP Environmental Science, and AP Psych, and AP Spanish. As well as AP performing arts courses. I think there should be a couple more for people who aren’t interested in these things. Like maybe if someone wanted to take AP Journalism, or some form of AP Math. However our academics are very solid and teachers do push students to do their best. Even if you don’t want to pursue a career in the arts, they prepare you, which I really like.
Going to this school was the best thing I’ve done. It allowed me to discover things about myself that I most likely wouldn’t have discovered about myself. It is a tight knit community and everyone knows each other. The teachers are able to connect with the students because of the smaller environment.
This is my 3rd year here at repertory and I can’t wait to graduate. This school is super small with an enrollment of 236 students in an apartment sized building shared with the town hall. REP however, is very good with the arts aspect of learning but not so much academically.
My experience overall in this school has been something that I will never ever forget. I have had such a crazy, exciting, bumpy, educational, emotional, and all around life experience going to this school.
Hey guys ! Repertory is an amazing school! This may sound cliche but we are truly a family . This school is very small so you get to know every single person in the school. Like any school it has its cons . Some of its cons are the cleanliness of the school . It can be a bit "dirty" sometimes .
Overall its a great school !
Overall its a great school !
I'm a die hard theatre kid in the sense that I love the art and am extremely passionate about it. Rep feeds that passion endlessly. There are a plethora of shows and opportunities you won't find anywhere else.
My experience at my school was amazing, It's honestly a great environment for kids like me to get the free opportunity to learn how to sing, act and dance. It's very diverse with all cultures. We recently added 3 new classes to our school like Black Studies, College Math, and College Writing. Preparing us for the real world that's out there for us besides just HighSchool. This is very good to have in schools because we get that advantage to be different!
Well this school basically has opportunities available and helps students be college ready and develop real life skills. You meet new people and they shape you into a better person and grow social skills. Can be tuff when it comes to grading and work but other wise it is a good school. Just make sure you put in the effort into your classes and you are good to go.
The community found at Repertory Company High School is, by far, the closest thing to a family a student can experience outside of their own home! The seemingly 'unconventional' high school environment that comes with the territory of being located in 42nd/Times Square and in the building of Town Hall allows students to learn of independence and initiative, as well as the diversity and very flourishing culture of NYC. This school is equipped to educate and train those that are serious about pursuing the arts as a career after graduating and inspire those that are just curious or interested in the concept of performing. The possibilities here are truly endless and the best part is that there are no restrictions or limitations put on students as they travel on their own artistic journey.
It is an incredible school and it was the best choice i made to audition and go there. It has been a blessing to be part of all the events and get all the opportunities that I've gotten while being there. The teachers and staff have been incredibly helpful with planning my future and making sure i stay on top of my grades.
I love how close the community of the school is, since there is about 260 students overall, it doesn’t feel like your typical judge school.
I love the people in the school and the family oriented. All the students are very close since its a small school. All the teachers are very helpful and are willing to dedicate their time to help students.
I love the opportunities that they provide us with. Sports has a low rating because we are a performing arts school that covers many aspects of the arts and are constantly improving.
Repertory was nothing like I expected. I expected the high school musical experience. It’s actually like any other school. I wish I would have put myself out more or engaged in more because that’s how you get further than others performance wise. There are upgrades needed equipment wise such as computers that actually work.
