My time at RCHS has been a very pleasant experience, I have enjoyed my time learning and growing in my education and setting new goals for myself. I would love for the school to offer more career classes and help one try to firgure out want to do after high school.
The teachers here are very nice. We offer a variety of different classes, such as welding, 3D art, and Animal Science. We have an amazing FFA Program along with many different clubs. We have smaller class sizes due to being in the country.
It was good enough to help you get into college but really only focuses on the basics. The classrooms are of average size, the teachers are ok. The school spirit is visible at football games.
Rensselaer has prepared me for college and taught me many things to be prepared for in life. It’s a good experience for many looking for a safe and fun learning environment. The school is really involved with their students and does what is needed to help.
Typical small town high school. Some great individuals work here! There is lots to improve. Too much emphasis on sports andevere lack of resources. Lots of bullying and racist people. There was money put into technology but not too much to improve the school's structure or to pay teachers more. Art/music is severely unfunded. The lack of mental health services definitely needs to be addressed. The counselors here did nothing in my college search and were kind of useless.
I didn't like my school very much. We have a handful if that of good teachers and the rest are not very good.
Love my high school years.. enjoyed most of my teachers. Made a lot of new friends that I will never forget. Most teachers were amazing. Favorite class overall was Art.. teacher is truly amazing!
Our new principal, Andrew Jones, has made our high school a cleaner and more respectable place in only the three years he has been here. He has also added 8 Advanced Placement courses to our class options. For being a small school of less than 500 students, we have a lot of club, sports, and schooling opportunities.
I liked the small school environment and the ability to thrive in athletics. The small town and school can also contribute to a negative atmosphere for some students.
I would like to see academics become just as important as the sports. Especially the clubs. I'd like to see better teachers hired and maybe some diversity. My experience with the school was not bad, there was little to no bullying and there were a lot of entertaining moments. The school, however, seems to care more about some students than others.
I would like to see more positivity throughout the school. The high school does well with bullying and accepting differences, but many teachers and students come into the classrooms with issues outside of school. I would also like to see students being better prepared for life after high school, whether that be their lives in college or just being taught about everyday life. Many teachers aren't happy. There are many disrespectful kids and when they are rude to the teachers, then the whole class is miserable. The school should have more programs about how to treat each other. Too much money is being put into athletic department. It is great that the school cares so much about the students being active, but the money going towards some of the things that they purchase could go to more things to better the capability of knowledge in school.
Very close student body. Lots of help from teacher when asked. Sports are pretty good and there are many of them.
Rensselaer has a very supportive community when we went to the state championship for football the whole town turned out but the school its self is not great a lot of teachers leave after a few years the ones that stay don't seem to have the students in mind. One teacher is extremely awful and has gone as far as to tell a student that their parents should have gotten an abortion. There is also a teacher that is very smug about the fact that their class is the reason that some students do not receive academic honors. The school is very awful at preparing students for college.
Too much money is put into athletics (football)
Some parents at my school don't seem very involved
Few of my teachers seem interested in their job
They're are many clubs and sports to join.
