I wish this school had been in existence when I was in high school! The faculty are experts in their fields, the students are self-motivated, and the entire downtown mall serves as its campus. Renaissance School teaches young leaders to be independent, encourages kindness and respect, and sends its graduates off to some of the best colleges and universities in the country. I am proud to work here and even prouder of what our students accomplish! Everything from the Model General Assembly Youth Attorney General to a World Science Scholar studies within these walls. There is no limit to what these students can do once they put their minds to it!

This school was wonderful for both of my children, and they each had very different temperaments. The teachers and administrators are caring and well -qualified. They really know their students. They connected my sons with people and places in town that helped them thrive. When one of my sons began showing signs of depression, they contacted me immediately and made every effort to help him find his way. Renaissance is a treasure!
Renaissance advertises itself as something it's not. The focus of the school has changed over the years. They put more emphasis on sciences than the aarts, even though they say they're an art school. They also advertise as diverse, which is relatively untrue. Renaissance is good at preparing students for a 4-year college, but it seems to push an agenda that makes students feel as if a 4 year university is the only option to become successful. Also, the school may prepare you academically for college, but not socially, or otherwise. No sort of life skills are taught. This school has some great teachers, but others are not so great. Many teachers and administrators pick favorites, and this is painfully obvious. The school does not have a good understanding of mental illnesses such as anxiety or depression, and there is no guidance counselor to help students with issues like these.
