This is a good school for a kid who does not push boundaries, is mentally sound most days, is willing to do extra work, loves the arts, and does not challenge the thinking of the student body. The teachers are AWSOME, the administration is a mess. Half of the time the administration would inadequately communicate to the teachers how their new schedule/system would work, there was a new system almost every week. This school preaches 0 tolerance to things like bullying, however, the student body can and will bully certain kids if they are not well liked. The teachers however, hold this school up and are the ONLY reason I would ever choose to come back. They are compassionate towards their students, and form close relationships with them. This school also does not allow students to have a study hall period, and takes the time that would be a study hall to do ILAB, a group project that cant push any boundaries and if your kid fails this class they could face being kicked out of the school

I've loved getting to go to Renaissance the last 4 years. Although there isn't an honors or AP program (although they are starting to add more as the years go on) I feel like I've had a very good education. But where Renaissance really shines is in its students and faculty. The teachers are absolutely phenomenal, many are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what they teach, and most importantly, they really care about the students. The culture at Renaissance is very accepting, super friendly, a little weird, but overall incredibly endearing. Many alums come back to visit because of the community, and I'll be very sad to leave it at the end of the year.
Renaissance High School, in the time that I’ve attend thus far, taught me a lot about myself and others. I was taught how to act in groups and how to become a leader. Teachers saw my potential and have put me in leadership groups, community building groups, and asked for me to lead groups in the future. I love the community I built here and I feel great where I am. Like many schools, it isn’t perfect, however. I wish there was more done about its “zero tolerance” rule actually allowing more tolerances, but I understand how hard it is to let someone from this small school go after a mistake. Nevertheless, this school is great for those who seek out community building, project based learning, out of the box thinking, and career planning environments.
