What I enjoy most is the fact that no boundaries are put between subjects or students. All students can explore the same subject and yet still learn something. They have done an excellent job at involving the arts in our academics, and it has made me understand certain topics more than I used to. What I would change would primarily be how we are prepared for college. The school does fulfill a lot of requirements for us, however we can't add much for extracurriculars, and resources are pretty rare.
I liked how interactive every advisor is with each scholar. They are truly invested in where you go after high school and supporting you in pursuing higher education. The only thing I would change is making the STEM program stronger.
I have been a student at Renaissance Arts Academy for seven years and each year there are new changes to the system for the best. The academics are great and I most enjoy that we are able to learn at our own speed and that each class has no more than 15 students so we really get that one on one student advisor time if needed.
As they tell you, this school is not for everyone, but it was the perfect fit for me. RenArts has offered me an alternative way of learning, and has given me the musical opportunities that I have hoped for an more. They have helped me be able to express myself clearly and have helped me with the academic subjects I have trouble with through non-traditional means. Granted, as with any school, there are some things that I don’t particularly care for, but there are far more things about this school that I love. Overall, I would highly recommend this school to those who are interested in an alternative way of learning. You have to keep an open mind and give the school a chance. After all, Rome wasn’t built in a day.
Amazing School this school offers an amazing college class experience. The Academic Advisors are really good. This school does focus mainly on the arts but does help out pretty well in serving students who don’t want to attend college an arts major. We have a 100% Graduation Rate. I would recommend visiting this school before you make your final decision as the experience is different for everyone!
Renaissance Arts Academy is a k-12 school with an immersive, autonomous scholarship based program that focuses on the immersion of the arts and academics. It is a performing art public school that focuses on teaching how to learn and think critically.
I’ve been going to renarts for four years and it has great outcome for kids getting into collage but horrible unqualified teachers mixed with overqualified ones and no clubs or sports with and administratration that cares more about how they can control you and limit your freedom than how kids like the school. There is a lack of learning at this school with interstates math and science there is barely any science taught language (which is only Latin) is taught in a confusing way that makes it so most people know very little Latin despite having taken it for several years. During several weeks each semester classes are basically stopped and learning comes to a halt as we put on the show and suffer through horrible treatment and conditions. This school has good out comes in turn of college for kids but is a horrible experience to go through and has a unwelcoming unfriendly environment that is awful to go through and I would discourage anyone from antennding.
I had a good run at this school nothing too bad although I do think the school makes you lazy in a way because of the no homework situation
I love the community that the school creates and I feel it's very good for me. And I absolutely love the advisors.
It's amazing. The writing, the music and every program there is amazing
The school is amazing. It brings together musical arts and standard school teaching. This school creates an amazing environment and it is amazing that I get to be apart of this amazing community
The teachers are great. They care alot about the students. They want to see us succeed in life, Which is why this school has a 100% graduation rate.
If you are 100% interested in what theyre teaching its great, but if you have a hard time loving every subject you can easily not learn much.
These things rarely happen at this school.
There is no real punishment other than sitting on a carpet in the middle of the room if caught talking too much.
Some are great but some have issues. All of the staff was extremely smart and interesting to learn from but some were more prepared than others.
There are none except the arts rehearsals all students are forced to do.
