The teachers at my school are great. There are only like one or two who just sit around and let students do whatever they want to but other than that the teachers help you inside and outside the classrooms. The teaching styles match up with the type of students they have and design it to change with the grade level so the work won't be too hard or too easy. Every student is known by name, first and last, and no teacher choose their 'favorite' in their classrooms. When a student or group of students are going through something emotionally or academically the teachers step in and assist. They will either pull you out of class to talk with you, talk with you before or after school and will do their best to help any way they can. The grading policy stays the same that way you know what to expect especially if you have that teacher over and over again even if it's a different subject.

My experience at this school has been okay but I know other schools are better. The staff is good but the students, cafeteria, and the building itself makes the 4 years of high school hard to get through. First, you have to climb four flights of steps to get to the school because its connected with a middle school and most of the time the elevator is broke or takes forever to go up and down. The students are always loud, cussing teachers out and making fun of each other or fighting. Some teachers can't control their classrooms and there are stuff written on almost every part of the building not to mention the air and heating system is always broke.
The student involvement goes up and down almost every year because you have students who want to do something but don't due to peer pressure and others don't fall for it and actually do something and a big group who just want to graduate and that's all. I would say peer pressure is a high percentage rate at my school because you have a lot of different beliefs due to people's background and that cause students to try to convince other students to do what they believe in. The students and staff do accept you for who you are but some students will go above and beyond to criticize you for a lie or truth they have heard about you by someone else. 90% of the classes will try to challenge you and some teacher, if they see you are advancing, will make work to accommodate you while helping you out on a personal level if we need it. My school have had students from Puerto Rico, Africa, Jamaica and other countries so that's the good thing and we have always been good dealing with someone's sexual orientation because we have so many students changing their preferences almost every year they're in high school.
