I absolutely love Redwood Academy--the tight nit charter school only enhances my learning experience. Above all, my teachers care. They care for me academically and ensure that I am also cared for personally. I don't think I would feel the same at any public school, as they insincerely assign you counselors that accommodate for hundreds of students. Despite the welcome and warmth of the school, I do wish for a greater plethora of AP classes and physical fitness in high school. Their message does focus predominately on academics, "preparing for college and independent living"; yet, I likewise miss the bonding experiences I fondly remember in my middle school PE classes. Additionally, a greater range of AP classes would not only appeal to me but my other classmates would likewise wish to experience challenging courses and augment our arsenals of knowledge.
I like that it is a small school, and it is easier to connect with teachers and fellow students. The teachers in Redwood are also very caring, and they encourage students to try and do their best.
The teachers are all very good and offer assistance to whoever whenever. The school provides a good education & in certain extra curriculars you can find more opportunities to better yourself. There are no sports or many clubs. But there are fun things the school offers. Such as a Bound week where the 7-10s do Artward Bound where they do many different types of art including but not limited to music, painting, poetry, knitting, film, dance, photography, and sketching. The juniors go on Outward Bound where for five days they go hiking and learn leadership & teamwork skills. Redwood Academy's seniors go through Career Bound where they learn about careers many dont often think about & life skills. Although they dont have the best resources they do try their best help all students to succeed.
It prepared me very well for life and college. It's full of supportive staff and students that make the general experience overwhelmingly positive.
The school is amazing! The teachers are dedicated and encouraging. The school has helped me succeed so much and the college program has allowed me to start getting college credits before graduating.
An amazing opportunity, Redeood really prepares its students for college. More art or sport programs would be nice, but given that they are a school of choice and make up for everything so well academically, I’m not complaining.
Personally, I have had an incredible time learning and growing in Redwood Academy. The school is small enough to allow for strong student-teacher bonds to form, facilitating a strong education.
This school has prepared me to take on college and the world while offering a family like environment. While all the classes I took were really well taught, my English and math classes really stood out and were phenomenal. Every single staff member truly cares about doing the absolute best job that they can and creating a welcoming yet academically challenging environment for their students. They also have a program that allows students to finish up to a year of college at the local junior college while still in high school. Because it is a small school, you have the ability to try new things and for your voice to really be heard. One of the few downsides is that sports aren't offered. Although since I started attending, Physical Education classes has been added to the 7th and 8th grade curriculum and I believe there is now even a small track and field team.
Honestly, this school was exciting to attend at first, but then it turned into a complete nightmare. Students weren't cooperating with other students, and some teachers were being bias over students. Most of the kids had nowhere to sit at lunchtime, the food was fine and they also provided a vending machine which was a great idea, but from my experience I never wanted to set foot in that school again.
They are pretty fun, but I chose not to take any to focus on my grades
This school is great when you need help with anything homework, problems with people, everything. If I could I would come back.
Some teachers are on top of grading and great at explaining, sometimes I get lost in some classes but besides that it is a great school.
The skills they teach you here are applicable to lots of places in life. The skills taught here are also top-quality. Even better than some college courses.
Our school has had the highest API scores in the entire county for many years in a row. We have also been awarded one of Americas top high schools. The staff is extremely dedicated to the students. I would never pick another school to attend, we are a family.
I think my school is very safe and secure for all students.
Redwood Academy is the best middle and high school I could have ever asked for. All the memories of spirit week, mock rock, community lunch, demo night, and all the fun times in class, these moments I will always cherish and that's what makes it unique.
We don't have sports or P.E. at school. Were a very classroom related school that focuses more on academics than athletics.
