I love Redondo Union High School. I started going to school there this year and the teachers and administrators have helped me tremendously getting enrolled, choosing classes and helping me with my work. I have accommodations and my counselor met with me to discuss if I was getting the help that I needed. The campus is really big and is well maintained. I feel super safe there. I play beach volleyball and they have a great workout facility. There are so many clubs and activities to choose from. I bring my own lunch but my friends say that the lunch is good. During my enrollment the PTA was there helping everyone signup for activities and directing the students and parents where they needed to go. My classes are challenging and they are definitely helping me get ready for college. I really love my new school!
Redondo Union is an overall amazing highschool. Not only have they gotten me prepared for college and the future, but the school also has terrific athletic programs, as well as clubs and organizations fit for everyone! The administration team and teachers are super helpful. The school also provides students with plenty of resources to help students be prepared for the next chapter in their lives. Last but not least, the school also has extremely clean and nice facilities; from their gyms to classrooms, the campus is absolutely gorgeous. Students are even able to have a view of the beach from certain spots on campus!
Redondo Union is the largest high school on the West coast, with that comes many advantaged but also drawbacks. An advantage of a large campus, challenging some college campus's, is the ability to navigate large crowds, connect with people of many different interests, and develop yourself as a person with exposure to so many different kinds of people. However, a large campus can also create cliques amongst people, not allow for students to really connect with teachers and get the help they need. Having so many students makes it really hard to feel anything more than just one of the many as the administration struggles with interacting with students on an individual level. For example, as a junior I've still never met with my counselor once let alone the principal. It's truly a privilege to attend a school with as many opportunities as Redondo Union, however, its lack of ability to provide guidance to students makes it hard to feel like a Seahawk.
