This school is amazing. Had you asked me a year ago, I wouldn't have said the same. But now, being at college has entirely changed my perspective.

My roommates failed a class that I passed w/ an A-. Confused because we're all smart people who go to a good school, I looked at their backgrounds: the only difference between us is that they went to much worse high schools. I'm succeeding in college only because RUHS did a great job preparing me. Just by listening in class, doing my HW, and studying, RUHS set me up for success. My roommates did the same things in high school, but their curriculum didn't prepare them the way RUHS did for me. I'm lucky.

Sure, I didn't have the best time in high school since I was so stressed. But I procrastinated. Still, the chem teacher sucked and the band director played favorites. But there's so much to like, in hindsight: AMAZING academics, college counselors, and sports. I'm so grateful for the preparation RUHS gave me to succeed in college!

Overall my positive experiences at RUHS have been very limited, non-the-less they existed. I had a total of 4 teachers out of the 12 I was taught by that left me feeing confident and educated in my capabilities. The administration has its moments when they really do step up and make a change but there are also numerous instances where they have protected their own faculty members and not protecting the students well being in times of crisis. School spirit and extra circulars are plentiful. The sports programs however are VERY biased! Administrators I can vouch for as a positive part of the RUHS community are: Laura Sands, Cassandra Jones, Arond Schonberg, and Reign Endo. I recommend this school if your looking for a plethora of extra-circulars and a fairly well rounded education this is the school for you.
Redondo Union High School (RUHS) is undoubtedly the BEST high school in the south bay! The school has an astounding amount of club joining opportunities to get involved in the community. At RUHS there are AP classes that are hands on, highly informative, and offer tutoring for each student. The athletic programs allow a wide variety of students from different backgrounds to learn and develop in each sport. Redondo Unions Associated Student Body does an excellent job at hosting activities to keep student, staff, AND community engaged. Overall RUHS is a great high school 10/10 would recommend.
