I feel like I wasn't given enough resources that I should have as a student. I don't think they prepared me for life after high school, whether I went to college. which I did, or whether I was going straight into the working society. I also feel like, at this point in time that I am in my third year of college, I feel like they didn't give us any other choice but to go to college or work. Of course, there were some teachers and faculty that tried to give some insight, but I feel as a whole they could have done better.
Redford Union is not an up to date school. It doesn’t provide enough resources like up to date technology to help students learn. It is not a friendly environment.
I liked how involved the teachers would be in their student’s lives. Not only were they concerned for academics, but emotional and personal issues as well. Music was very involved as well as sports.
Redford Union High School was a very diverse and friendly place to learn. Overall, as being a third generation student of the school, I am grateful for my time and experiences while there. Redford Union High School pushed me further academically and mentally for the world after leaving there.
I transferred from a high school that didn't focus on college unless you were the start football player or basketball player or just a star athlete. Here at Redford Union all my teachers help me stride and the guidance counselors do just that. They guide you in the right direction of help and understanding college forms and what is needed for college. They actually care!
I am currently a student at Redford union highschool and my favorite thing a about it is the community. Redford union highschool could do better in the academic department and as a student I don't feel very challenge or like myself as a student I'm not offered things such as options for college in time. I'm offered them at the last minute.
Redford Union High School is a school that may not have the same reputation as others nearby, but we have the heart and staff that makes us great. There is an Early College program and AP/IB courses are available to students who strive for greater.
The school was about average. I enjoyed the sporting events and a few of the teachers that I had. I don't feel like Redford Union really prepared me for college, and I wish that they cared more about their art programs.
Our homecoming is in the gym. We have a “homecoming” pep rally and that’s it. Our second pep rally is for Prom where only the Seniors can attend. It’s an okay school.
I think that Redford Union should change how teachers and student interact. More school activities. More fun learning environment.
I would like to see a change in a few teachers. I haven't had the best experience in biology or chemistry because of the lack of teaching skills. Other teachers are passionate about their job and you can tell they care. The school can be much cleaner and have better safety precautions. Some of the students don't have much school spirit which causes some activities to get cancelled. Others have a lot. We can do better on student outreach as well.
I am a current Junior, graduate of 2019, Redford Union is a great school. It was previously more diverse but the culture is a little different. But based on the school(s) in the surrounding area it will become more diverse by 2022. The club & organisations are great. The counsellors and college advisers are great as well. This school overall is spleniferous.
I'm a part of the school's early college program and I'm thankful that I am. If I had continued in the school without this program I most definitely would NOT be prepared for college, and many of my classmates would agree.
The overall experience was okay but the little things really wasn’t. The food was poor and the education seemed limited.
I didn't like the campus very much. The school in terms of diversity was lacking. The food was terrible and furthermore, the curriculum was average. I wish that in the future, the food quality gets better. The sports weren't bad. I didn't play any either way. The parent involvement is very lacking as well. I didn't have a very good experience, these are just my opinions.
Redford Union High School is far from bad, but far from good. I would describe it as a stereotypical high school, in terms of the students. Don't get me wrong, it's a great school if you wish to participate in different sports such as basketball, football, wrestling, etc. And clubs like spectrum and power. The teachers are willing to help students, as long as the students choose to listen. Other than that, there's really nothing else to talk about in regards to this school.
Being at Redford Union the past four years almost its great to see how much the school has changed for the better. My first three years we did not offer a college readiness program and now we do and it’s a great opportunity for the underclass students to get a chance I never had to get ahead. We have a college advisor this year for the first time and it’s wonderful, especially being a senior, to have someone dedicated solely to helping us with any college questions we have.
