It is a blessing that I can send my children there. It is even more of a blessing that my children tell me that they want to be there. I have three (soon to be four) kids at Redeemer. They are the perfect mix of Christian focus and educational quality. As a parent, my favorite aspect is that faith is worked into every subject and every class. Add to that the high expectations set for students. Redeemer is truly a blessing.
Redeemer provides students and families with a Christ-centered environment. They excel in preparing students academically and spiritually. Redeemer is a great fit for our family and we are thankful for the safe environment and loving teachers.
I attended Redeemer from 4th to 9th grade. I made wonderful memories with my classmates but had horrible experiences with my teachers. As a child with ADHD, I was often ridiculed and penalised for having that condition by the teachers. It is both sad and frustrating as a child to deal with a condition and be treated like I was constantly wrong or stupid by the people who's job it was to help me. It is a poor reflection on a learning institution when the teachers and administrators are the biggest bullies. I can remember 2 instances where I was in conversation with a teacher or the Principal and was forced to confess to something that I hadn't done without calling my parents. Education and engagement in the classroom were poor when I attended. Unfortunately, I do not look back at my time at Redeemer with pleasant memories or feel that I gained from the educational experience in any meaningful way outside of the people I met. I encourage you to look elsewhere for your child's education.
I have gone to Redeemer for fourteen years, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it! Since the class sizes are small, the teachers have more time to help each student, and the teachers do not see the students as a project-they see students as human beings. They are willing to help students with issues outside of academics.
We love Redeemer. We are a family of 6 and found the school is flexible enough to help each of our kids in their needs
Redeemer is a great place if you want your child to build close relationships with their classmates, as the class size is fairly small. The teachers do a great job of including a Christian perspective in each class. However, as Redeemer is a fairly new high school, they do not understand college readiness. If you would like your child to be involved in extra-curricular activities and be prepared for college, another high school would be a better option!
Redeemer has prepared me for not just for my future academic career, but for my career outside of school. They have given me many opportunities to try new things and learn new skills. I have met my best friends because of this school, and because of the small class sizes, everyone knows each other. This has been a huge benefit to me, because knowing your classmates well helps to make your high school experience that much more fun. The teachers have been very helpful and always take their time to make sure you understand the concepts and help to make sure you get the highest grade possible.
I would like to see teacher willingness to help change. I would also like to see teachers actually try to act on issues. Some do. Others don't...
My experience at Redeemer Lutheran School has been a blast! I have attended the school from kindergarten until I graduated. The school gives an excellent education in a small Christian environment. All of the teachers and students are very friendly. At Redeemer you can get a high level education that sufficiently prepares you for college!
