The Performance Arts program was underfunded; the lockers weren't the best freshmen year, but none the less it was a decent school despite some iffy teachers who have thankfully left or were fired. School lunch was iffy, but they had a great program for business classes.
American Sign Language was a fantastic class, the teacher at the time was awesome. She left as well though. If you love Theater, Production Design, or History, definitely get Ms. Triveline as your teacher! I had her for four years straight for Theater and Production Design.

Most of the teachers I had were extremely passionate about their students, always trying to make their class entertaining and motivating us. They actually care about whether we are learning or not and always go over and beyond to help us however they can. My counselor is also a super passionate, sweet person and I can tell how much she wants to help us succeed. The only complaint I have is about the security staff. This one security guard just recently got fired because she would degrade and shame young girls when dress-coding them. She would also stare through the bathroom stall cracks, and invade everyone's privacy. They waited about two years to fire her though, which is unacceptable since her behavior was so innapropriate.
After my daughter has attended for 4 years as she leaves I am left with the perception that generally Kellis doesn't care for its students. She has been fortunate to have studied under 4 - 5 incredible teachers combined, but other than those 4 - 5 the staff and coaches at Kellis are indifferent to the students. Students are treated according to their looks, body style, and participation in football. Female students are held to the dress code more consistently than male students but not consistently amongst female students.
