My experience at Ravenwood has been excellent so far. The teachers are clearly wanting the best for their students, and there are plenty of activities and opportunities for students.
They prepared me well for college, but were too strict overall. I was involved in sports, academic clubs, and took mostly AP and honors classes. The stress they put on kids to be involved and also take the hardest classes helps with time management, encourages involvement in many things, and teaches a strong work ethic.
It is very competitive. There are some great science classes and Biomedical classes which many people take.
Ravenwood is a great school and offers a great deal of opportunities to clubs and college classes. The only issue I have is just some of the students in the school that can make it hell for other kids.
The teachers, the classmates, and the environment bring the school together so well. The teachers truly love what they are teaching which makes the material more understandable and interesting to learn. More than that though, the teachers care for you in the best ways- it's about more than just grades for them. We have amazing pep rallies that always out-do the last- one year we had a star wars fight. Our art programs are impressive and phenomenal; every year, I get so excited for the spring muscial. The school has worked so hard to make sure that all of the programs are valued with respect and have made it that much better. It has been a gateway for me to be so involved in leadership and explore my personality. We truly have been blessed with a great high experience that has prepared so many of us well for the future.
An interesting place to learn and connect with academically focused students. There are many athletic students who go to the school.
Ravenwood is an academically driven school. The students are dedicated to not only their studies but afterschool activities. Everyone is given a chance to succeed and the teachers will go out of their way to help a student. The counselors are extremely helpful and are willing to go to great lengths so that a student will get the classes they want, find scholarships, and help with any family/friends issues ones might have. The student culture is just as great. Every student has a relationship with each other whether it just being an acquaintance or best friends. Everybody follows the rules and is respectful of one's personal space. The bond this school has is very special. The reason why I took one star off is that there isn't much diversity and the food could be improved upon. Ravenwood High School works very hard to make sure every student is well equipped for their future.
Don’t even bother acknowledging the administration cause they are not going to help you. Also the food here is absolutely disgusting.
Ravenwood has felt like a home throughout the years. Classes were fun and most teachers were amazing.
The school fosters school spirit, and the academics are encouraging for all students. A vast array of courses are offered, which give students options to prepare for college and a future career. The school administration do their best to make the school an academically comfortable place for the students, but could do more to cut back on the bullying. The school also ignores symbols and objects that targets and harasses racial and ethnic groups, which makes students uncomfortable, especially since Ravenwood contains a highly diverse student body. The football team, however, is incredible, and the school makes sure that all sports teams are well-funded.
Ravenwood High School provides many opportunities for students to become involved and excel; it is has well-performing sports and high academics. Despite its achievements, the school could improve to support better student well-being and equity among students.
They have a great fine arts program. I was able to participate in marching band for 4 years. I loved being part of an amazing group, competitive, challenging, and another family. I loved the art classes available. I was able to grow artistically and learn so many new techniques. I truly enjoyed visual arts and digital art.
It was a very diverse school with inclusive teachers who really worked towards giving you the best education possible.
It’s been a year since I’ve pursued my high school studies in Ravenwood, and I must say that I’m in awe with the friendliness and approachability of the people around the campus. The friends I got to have are incredible, as this was something I worried about at first. The staff and administration is superb to accommodate with whatever help you need. The teachers I’ve had are exemplary as they made sure to bring out what’s best for their students. The academics, athletics, and arts program is overall top notch. All in all, my first year experience is great!
The thing that I love most about Ravenwood is that there are lots of options in terms of classes, sports, and after school clubs and activities.
I first came to Ravenwood when I was a sophomore. It was a little rocky at first because I had to find new friends, but everyone was really nice and made my transition easier. My teachers were awesome and my track team was like a second home to me. In my opinion Junior was my best and favorite year.
I liked the layout of the school. However finding parking is difficult and their is often not much student unity.
