My experience at Ravenwood has been fantastic! I am currently a senior, and my brother is a junior. Most of the classes we've taken have been challenging and rewarding and have prepped us for the next level in that subject area. I am currently taking AP, honors and dual enrollment classes. Ravenwood offers a wide variety of these programs to help us prepare for college. The teachers are great, and I have maintained relationships with most of them since taking their classes. The band program is my favorite and absolutely phenomenal! I have taken in the concert band class and been a member of the marching band since my freshman year. My brother is too. I can't say enough about how marching band and the director (Chris Janowiak) have changed my life and helped me develop personally. I have recommended band and marching band to everyone in the middle school bands and high school who play instruments. I am the 1st chair in the top honors band) and the Brass Hornline Captain in marching.
The amount of opportunities to diversity yourself and find your true passions were unparalleled at Ravenwood. Being able to not only take hard classes, but also participate in programs like orchestra, language, and the LGBTQ club allowed me to form friends much easier and allowed me to better understand how I could apply myself in the real world. Additionally, the incredible diversity here allowed for everyone to feel included and helped foster a welcoming and nurturing environment for everyone, where people regardless of gender, race, or sexuality could succeed and shine!
