The teachers are amazing. I transferred to Rauner my last two years of highschool and have recently since graduated from there. I’ve never felt more cared about on an individual level or more motivated to succeed. The AP course offerings they have are extremely beneficial to your transcript when it comes time to apply to college and the college counselors are second to none. They walked me through every step of the college process and make sure each and every student gets the assistance and 1 on 1 help they and their families need. Love this school, staff, teachers, and value the friendships made.
What I like about Rauner is how small the school is. Everyone knows one another and the teachers make the students feel welcome and heard. Becoming a senior at Rauner is very fun. My counselor and advisor are always putting a smile on my face and checking up on me. One thing I enjoy at Rauner is spirit weeks. We had one for the independence of Mexico, senior week, and we will soon have one for Black History Month. Rauner is very good at incorporating culture within the school. They make a lot of effort to make the students feel safe and let them know they have a voice within the school.
The school is very focused on their students goals and their college decision from the start. Very determined to make everyone graduate. A very college setting all four years of high school. Staff members are very respectful to students. Students can be out of hand and be disrespectful, as well as teachers. Demerit system is more focused on than actually reaching out to troubled students. Merits are hardly given to students, which primarily looses the students' motivation and recognition from the class. Does not equally recognize every students different achievements even if it was small.
