Rattan High is a small school that allows students to build relationships with other students and also teachers. I would like to see Rattan be able to expand and renovate some of the facilities.
Going to Rattan was a very good decision and I’m very thankful my parents put me in that school system. All the teachers and coaches treated every single kid as their own. I feel they did the best the possibly could with the things they were given to get us ready for college. If I live around that school district I can promise you my kids will be attending Rattan Public Schools.
The experience I’ve had at Rattan High School was great!! All the faculty there was very friendly and was very willing to help you with anything or answer any questions you may have! The students there was very fun! Without the friends I made there, high school would be such a drag!
Everybody's a jerk. The food is horrendous the teachers are sassy and the buildings are falling apart. I wouldn't make my child go to this school again.
I had such a wonderful time at Rattan High School, by far the best school I've attended. One thing I would like to see change is the curriculum. In a few of my classes we didn't even have our own books but our teachers still the best they could to educate us.
Rattan school is great. . . if you are an athlete. I would like to see Rattan put more focus on academics instead of sports and for them to not show favoritism just because they play sports. The athletes aren't the only talented people in the school.
Rattan High School has some of the sweetest teachers in Oklahoma. No matter where you're from, you will be welcomed with open arms. You can create friendships with the teachers that will change your life. You can feel loved in this small school, which helps if you aren't into big high schools.
The teachers at Rattan barely put in minimal effort to teach. Teachers would rather watch a student fall through the cracks then put in the time and effort it takes to help that student understand and better themselves. In my senior class alone I know of five kids that have dropped out. Mind you that the high school alone probable has 120 students. It is in fact quite a common occurrence for teachers to sit around and gossip with other teachers in the hallway during an entire class period. We are such a small community that no one even considers that they could be fired. And they won't be. You can tell the superintendent and the principal and it changes nothing.
My experience at Rattan High School has not been the best. I feel as though they care more about the Athletic Department than Academics. Our school could be better if we focused on what's important at hand, and that is our Academics.
The close knit community within the school has helped me and many other students out greatly. If something is missing or someone needs everyone steps up to help.
We have two licensed nurses on hand at all time. The school has many safety policies. If anyone is caught breaking these policies it is an automatic expulsion.
The teachers and staff are very helpful. They all go above and beyond to do their jobs. At Rattan there is a very strict bullying policy it is automatic expulsion.
we have the best sports teams in the area, and lots of team spirit. anyone can be on the team that wants to try it out. we have a workout room accessible to anyone, as well as the baseball/softball fields and the gym.
we have a pretty modest dress code, which is not an issue for most students. there is not very much bullying. i wish there was an open campus so we could leave for lunch, though.
the food is okay... a few things are really good, a few are really bad, but most of it is just decent.
the lockers are old and hideous, the rooms could use a bit of updating. but the teachers are great and there are plenty of resources available.
