Rappahannock County High School is rather unique in that it has only around 300 students(including 8th grade as the county has no public middle school) and is surrounded by gorgeous country side, woods, and mountains. The community here is quite tight, with none being left out or alienated as even if cultural and racial diversity isn't prominent, ideal and social diversity is huge. There is a group for everyone. Thanks to the majority of teachers being prevalent with small classes there is a good class environment. As far as academics, its 50/50.

There are much fewer opportunities for advanced classes here than at most schools and most AP and DE classes must be taken online. Another thing to mention is some incompetency with the administration, as a result of lack of enforcement to do more than the minimal as well as messy scheduling and lack of communication at times.
Nonetheless, I am proud to be a senior at this high school, but am also glad that I will be leaving soon.

My high school experience at Rappahannock County has been unforgettable. There were many things I have gotten to excel in, including academics and sports. One thing I like most about Rappahannock County High School is how small the student body is. Growing up with most of the same students from kindergarten all the way to senior year, I had the opportunity to make close bonds that are very special to me. Being in a small school, you know who everyone is. Our community is very close-knit and that isn't something you see in a lot of places. Something that I wish could change at this school is the sport selection. Many of the sports programs have advanced throughout the years and achieved many awards. There should be other sport options, like lacrosse, tennis, swimming, or rugby. Other sports that are offered could persuade more students to join a team. Rappahannock County High School has taught me many things over the years and has shaped me into who I am today.
The school is predominantly white and conservative. Many students are homophobic, racist, islamophobic, xenophobic, etc. Slurs are thrown around daily with little intervention. Overall, the students act friendly but are not truly nice. Some teachers are good and passionate but others are rude and seem to hate their jobs. There's a lot of drama. The environment is not good, though the education is alright.
