some teachers are better than others a lot are burnt out younger ones have not control on classroom
to much pressure put on students for testing
There are a lot of clubs but you need to know the right people or coaches to be accepted
There are many different groups of students and they make it very hard to get into their "group" very divided group of students.
Students who are on IEP's do not get the help that they need not enough IVS to help. The technology needs to be updated to handle all the students/teachers who try to access it. They do not have enough teachers who would like to tudor it is mainly other students. If you want your child to take the bus you need to pay even though you pay taxes for the district and HS does not even have the district bus service offered to the families
The district says it has a no tolerance policy. It is not enforced like it should be. The HS says it enforces the dress code and they do for the first week of school and after that it is not enforced at all they also sell items in the spirit shop that are not supposed to be worn in the school makes no sense. There are several principals since there is such a large amount of students however they are always being moved to other positions or schools you never know who the principal is for your child. The polices are not constant within all the schools.
We moved into the district because it was an extremely good school. Things have gone down hill quickly the HS has way to many students and does not have the room to expand. When students need to access the internet which is a lot the internet is always down or they have IT issues. Teachers seem to be dealing with interruptions in the classrooms and not getting enough time to teach. Very disappointed. The district office says how great things are and wonderful but is to worry about the Global connection and not about what are children are doing here
They have a link on their web site to report bullying however nothing is really taken seriously unless the parent takes matters into their hands. If there is trouble between students they suspend the one who started the matter however they are usually back in school within a few days. They do not enforce the bullying policy very well. I was there one day when the fire alarm went off within 20 minutes of school letting out and it was nothing but chaos if a student wanted to walk away from school grounds it would not be a issues. I have received 3 phones call from office stating my child was not in school that day and they did not received a phone call as to why these phone calls came at the end of the day. I assured them my child was in school because I dropped them off and he does not drive yet. Called principal about the issue he never returned my phone call. Over all safety at the HS is extremely low priority. Once you buzz in and after in sign in you have pretty much access to anywhere you would like to go with any questions asked.
