    Adlai E. Stevenson High School

    • Lincolnshire, IL
    • 926 reviews
Senior:Coming from a graduating eighth grade class of 58 students, the culture shock was definitely humbling when arriving at Stevenson with its student body of 4000 students. My peers broadened my horizons everyday not only through their diverse cultures and backgrounds but also in the way they encountered and dealt with problems. While my classes were definitely a step-up from my middle school rigor, Stevenson's teachers were not only dedicated to their subject but passionate for helping their students as well. I am grateful for the environment that I found in Stevenson, which allowed me to pursue the unexplored and the unchartered within the context of the familiar.

Senior:I could not possibly feel more blessed to have attended Glenbrook North for 3 (going on 4) years. Glenbrook North is immersed in an inclusive, loving, and thriving community. Within the walls of Glenbrook North lies at atmosphere that can not be found anywhere else. Each day I wake up excited, knowing that I will be spending my day with friends, teachers who care about me, and enthusiastic peers. Each year at GBN I have connected with new peers, whether my age, older, or younger, each student at GBN is special and unique. I build my relationships through class work, projects, electives, or even gym classes. GBN cares about their students' health. I take gym each semester for ninety minutes every other day, as well as fitness tests four times each semester. The faculty truly care about their students achieving their highest potential in their best health. I wish that every student could have a high school experience like the one provided by GBN, and I am tremendously blessed!

    Garden City High School

High School Senior:My school has been one of the most amazing outlets for me to really find myself, and grow as a human being. The undivided attention from faculty and staff has had a major affect on me succeeding throughout my four years in my high school. The healthiness in the air of Garden City High School has showed me what I could possibly become or achieve in my near future. I have had my up's and down's as a worried young freshman, but from the boost I received from my peers converted me into a strong individual. From walking through the front doors and being greeted by a sweet man Tom at the front desk to my Italian teacher greeting me with her love and care, my school is my home away from home. My district happens to be in a wealthy town, so our school does everything they can from donating prom dresses to girls in need to holding bake sales almost every week. All of the clubs and organizations are motivated to help the needy and less fortunate, not just to raise the money but with love for society around us.

Junior:HF is a great school! The teachers are engaged to help students succeed. They are willing to come in early or stay late after school. All teachers that I have had are easily accessible through email. The school has tutoring seven days a week. There are no excuses for any student to fail. The Athletic Department offers a lot of options for students. There are also a lot of option to choose from regarding school clubs and organizations.

Alum:I loved my high school experience in Saline. The building itself is beautiful with lots of natural lighting, which was really important to me since I suffer from seasonal depression. The music program is amazing and I greatly enjoyed participating in the marching band and wind ensemble. The academics are wonderful! There were at least 10 students in my graduating class that graduated with a 3.99 or 4.0 GPA. Our football team was super awesome too - it made being in marching band even more fun! I was so happy the year that we made it to the state finals - I was able to march on Ford Field. I also got to travel to Disney World with the marching band and perform in a parade there.

    Fairfield Warde High School

    • Fairfield, CT
    • 219 reviews
Freshman:Fairfield Warde is an overall good public school. There is a wide array of electives available, spreading from culinary arts to business, which allows students to be exposed to a variety of subjects and pursue their interests. An honors track is offered for all core subjects, and many AP courses are available to challenge the ambitious student. Teachers are generally helpful and aim for the growth of each student. There is a selection of clubs and sports available for students to partake in, and as long as a student is interested there would be an activity available for them. The food, however, is repetitive and perpetuates the stereotype of poor school food. Additionally, the foreign language curriculum is lacking compared to the rest of the school. Overall though, it's a good school.

High School Senior:The academics at MHS is outstanding. All the teachers are more than qualified for their expertise, and are fully engaged in the students and in their teaching. The curriculums are challenging, but this challenge gives every student the ability to master the topic at hand, pursue the subject learned, and grow as a student in regards to work ethic, responsibility, and intelligence. MHS offers a variety of academic opportunities including the IB diploma, AP classes, the Vantage Program, electives, musical ensembles, art classes, and so much more. Every student is able to participate in the classes that fit with their personal learning abilities and interests. Students are able to pursue their passions and reach new goals because of the opportunities offered at MHS! It is an incredible learning environment and has provided me with so many different academic opportunities. For example, my orchestra has had the opportunity to travel abroad to China during my Sophomore year and to Spain this year (my senior year). These travel studies helped us to delve into new music and discover new cultures!

    Glastonbury High School

High School Senior:My overall experience at Glastonbury High School has been great. I was exposed to many different clubs, activities, and sports which were all welcoming. Also, there are a wide variety of classes you can choose to take which interest you the most. What makes Glastonbury High School unique is that , I personally believe it prepares you for the real world/ college in every class you take from ceramics to a business class. If I had a change to choose this school again to do it all over I most gladly would. I would do my high school years over at Glastonbury High School because every administrator is very welcoming and someone is always there to guide you in the right direction. And if you ever need someone to talk to about anything, there is someone there for that. One think I love at Glastonbury is the Guidance Office. During your years of high school they prepare you for graduation and they make sure that you are meeting the requirements to being successful and getting to where you need/want to be a a couple years.

    George W. Hewlett High School

    • Hewlett, NY
    • 147 reviews
Senior:I felt Hewlett High School was a well rounded experience. The great thing I love, is the ability to have multitudes of opportunity. My guidance counselor was an amazing help all four years of high school and is always there for support. While many other schools don't have this, these guidance counselors really do guide you to graduating in four years and taking classes that are on your level. I had so many opportunities to take AP and college courses in order to push my academics to the limit. The teachers accommodate to you an abundant amount. However, some other teachers don't baby you as much and that really got me ready for college because I got used to keeping my own calendar and following a syllabus. It was a pretty amazing experience and I made some lifelong memories and friends that will not be forgotten!

    Cambridge Rindge & Latin School

    • Cambridge, MA
    • 239 reviews
Alum:My experience at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School (CRLS) was overall very positive. I transferred to CRLS my sophomore year and was pleasantly overwhelmed by the number of students, classes, and the sheer size of the actual school buildings. The teachers are patient, kind, understanding, and welcoming. They are passionate about what they teach and sincerely want to see their students succeed. However, if you're new to CRLS or a transfer student (I transferred sophomore year) it can be daunting. Some programs aren't easily accessible if you don't know where to look or whom to ask. I didn't know carpentry, pottery, and an array of other interesting and fun courses were offered until my senior year, so definitely try to seek out opportunities and get to know what CRLS offers once you're there!

Also, high school can be hard and stressful at times, so try to treat yourself every now and then. You deserve it!

    Arrowhead High School

    • Hartland, WI
    • 378 reviews
Alum:Past alum from Arrowhead High School. Overall, as a past student, I liked it here. Quality education that helped me earn 25 AP credits towards college and an additional 16 retroactive credits from Spanish. Good use of technology throughout the school, and for the most part, the faculty is dedicated and fit for the job. However, when it comes to extracurricular inclusion and focus, it is clear there is not equality, due to distribution of funds and attention.

    Lincoln Way West High School

    • New Lenox, IL
    • 170 reviews
Senior:The best thing about Lincoln-Way West in the unity we have. From the biggest football game of the season to the school play to the academic scholars, we all come together to support each other. We care deeply about each other as human beings and the relationship between students and teachers are the most valuable in our eyes. In my experience, I was lucky enough to not only have teachers that cared about me as a student, but also took a personal interest in me as an individual. I always have an adult to talk to and feel comfortable and safe around. Although change is good, I would not change anything about Lincoln-Way West because without West, I would not be the strong, happy, resilient individual that I am today, and for that I am very grateful. Go Warriors!

    Southern Regional High School

    • Manahawkin, NJ
    • 171 reviews
Junior:My overall experience at Southern Regional has been great. The programs that they have available for the students are great. The administration encourages students to get involved whether it be a club or a sport. The teachers even encourage you to talk to them when you have an issue or a question. The thing I would like to see change is the food. To me the food doesn't seem fresh. I prefer fresh food. Also, they don't really have much fresh food. They typically have fast, greasy, processed food.

    Lower Merion High School

    • Ardmore, PA
    • 201 reviews
Senior:Lower Merion is a great school with plenty of academic and extra curricular opportunities available for students. There are hundreds of clubs, sports, and unique opportunities you can't find at many other schools. You can choose to take advantage of these or not, and there is something for everyone.

In terms of academics, there are lots of challenging courses to choose from as well as lower-level courses. Many teachers are great and passionate about their subject, but not all teachers are like this. It can be hard to get good grades at LM but it's also difficult to fail- most teachers will do everything they can to keep you from failing.

One downside of LM is the competitive culture- there is a big emphasis on getting into college and doing things/taking courses for the sake of college transcripts rather than interest or learning.

Overall, LM is what you make of it- you can learn a lot if you come in with the right attitude.

    Lake Forest High School

    • Lake Forest, IL
    • 119 reviews
Niche User:I'm sure everyone who has ever gone through the rough 4-year high school system has wanted to either get out as soon as possible or go back and change things drastically. I know I want both, and it is my senior year at LFHS. Freshman year was a great experience for me because I got to discover myself. It's true- high school changes you. I grew up. My first year was not heavy on coursework, but I wish I had taken more rigorous courses and excelled in my studies more. The high school offers a lot of chances and freedoms to change up your schedule and take courses you would not usually take at other schools. Almost every teacher has their own plan for their classes, and every one of them tries to be interactive and get their students intrigued on at least one topic throughout the year. For example, in US History CP, my teacher showed us a powerpoint on the different types of guns used during American wars. I think we all might agree that looking an an online picture is not the same as viewing it in real life. Hence, my teacher brought one of the guns he collects to school the next day and showed us the parts, and allowed each of us to hold it. I really felt like I was in a soldier's shoes. Of course, there was no ammunition. The environment is challenging, however, there are many opportunities to grow into yourself. Try a sport, join a club. Your schedule (if planned out well), will allow for time to join Model United Nations, or tryout for Varsity tennis, and everybody comes to football games during the fall season to show off school spirit. Go Scouts!

High School Senior:This is the best school ever, and if I had started the high school journey all over again, I would choose to go to Edina High School again. I love this school because the teachers are very nice, and they adjust their learning so each and every student understands what is going on. another reason this school is so great is the community. Edina is a beautiful and great city, and people are 10 times better. Everyone is so nice, and you love going to school and seeing the smiles on the students and teachers faces. Something unique about Edina High School is all the clubs we have. There is something for everyone from Soccer, to Ping-Pong, to, believe or not, how to Barbecue!

Senior:Hartland high is full of great teachers and students. Everyone there is eager to learn in a fun and good environment. Bullying is shamed and rarely there. The teachers and other staff members create important relationships with the students to create something much more than going to school for just an education. The majority of students are in multiple clubs and highly involved in student activities. Also everyone wants everyone to succeed so it is a very teamwork oriented high school, studying together is very common! Hartland high school is more than a high school, it is a family community.

Sophomore:I am a sophomore at RHHS and I can honestly say that my teachers are the reason our school is rated one of the best in MD. My teachers have encouraged me to succeed beyond the classroom, many of them have seen strengths in me that even I have not seen, and they have raised me up on eagles wings. A classroom experience in RHHS takes students beyond the normal classes, our teachers lead us to realms of discovery , they push the boundaries of our imagination. Every school teaches the same AP syllabus, but RHHS teachers take that same AP syllabus and make it an exciting challenge.
