    Hume-Fogg Academic Magnet School

    • Nashville, TN
    • 409 reviews
High School Junior:I love my school. It's my favorite place to be, and I actually can't wait for school holidays to get over with so I can go back! The amount of freedom we have at Hume-Fogg is very nice, and we excel in all areas. Our theatre department and bands are actually higher-ranked than the district's school of the arts. Academics are best in the state, and we have several kids going to Ivy Leagues each year.

We have a lot of outside events and opportunities for all students to get involved or pursue their interests. It's just a really great place.

Senior:It's a really good learning environment for the most part! Partially depends on the teachers-avoid Bonanno and Ruess. Otherwise, the students and teachers are great! They really push you; you'll be more than ready for college if you can make it through Central.

    Oak Ridge High School

    • Oak Ridge, TN
    • 149 reviews
Junior:Oak Ridge High School, a school where teachers who enjoy challenging their students are present around every corner but are willing to tutor whenever. A school where teachers genuinely love seeing the lightbulb go off in their students eyes and will do anything possible to see them understand it. College readiness is expected among the teachers to teach the students, with many alums coming back to tell the students how much more prepared they were, compared to their new peers. Not only are the academics pressured, but the athletics are precious to this school and community. Oak Ridge High School is known for exceeding in many aspects, but especially academics and athletics. With many clubs and social events to join, nobody is left out. I am honored to be an Oak Ridge Wildcat and I highly recommend this high school to anyone.

    Ravenwood High School

    • Brentwood, TN
    • 368 reviews
Senior:Ravenwood is a great place to go to school! Everyone is so nice, and the school itself is always clean and stocked with top of the line equipment and technology. The school spirit is very strong and everyone gets involved in rooting for the sports teams. The cafeteria has many different options for eating lunch, and if you don't like anything that is being sold in the cafeteria then you can go to the Raptor Coffee Shop and get a coffee or a choice of one of the various snack items that they have. If you want to by Ravenwood clothing, then you can visit the Ravenwood Retail Store and buy their top of the line merchandise for great prices. Overall the school is amazing, with minor negatives being the extremely strict administration and minor overcrowding.

    Houston High School

    • Germantown, TN
    • 233 reviews
Junior:While attending Houston High school I have seen it develop and grow stronger. Houston High has always supported cancer research. Recently, one of our own peers has been diagnosed with this tragic disease. We, as a school, have come together and raised thousands of dollars to support families that have been diagnosed with cancer. One of the things that I would like to see change is the relationship between student and guidance counselor. I feel that it is a very distant relationship and the advice received is either inadequate or nonexistent. I believe that this could change if one class of students, class being determined by expected graduation year, had one designated guidance counselor. the relationship between student and counselor could then grow stronger over time and both would know each other better.

    Brentwood High School

    • Brentwood, TN
    • 241 reviews
Senior:Brentwood High School is an excellent school because of the amazing teachers that are employed here. As a student for all four years, I have learned so much from every teacher I've had. They are all so knowledgeable and have a true love for teaching their students. My teachers this year, as a senior, are very aware of the big changes their students are about to experience, and they are available for guidance and support whenever it may be needed. I have made incredible memories here at Brentwood High School and would recommend this establishment of higher learning and excellence to everyone for this reason alone. Brentwood High School offers much more with its diversity of its students and teachers, opportunities in sports, the arts, and clubs, and its achievements, as a whole, in all areas of the school. Brentwood High School is known for its intelligent students and teachers, all welcoming and encouraging of anyone who may become a Brentwood Bruin.

Senior:I have been attending Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet High School for six years, and am currently finishing my senior year. Starting from 7th grade, I have seen so many changes during my time here. I have seen both the good and the bad, but that is unavoidable. The diversity and amount of importance placed on education at MLK has allowed me to shape my values into one based on integrity and hard work. I am grateful for the opportunities this school has given me, and regardless of the hardships I have faced while attending, if I had the chance to do it over, I would.

    Farragut High School

    • Knoxville, TN
    • 335 reviews
High School Senior:I've gone to Farragut High my whole life, but I have never stayed in the same friend group, extra curricular activities, electives, etc. There are so many people to meet and things to experience here. I have tried all kinds of things, like marching band and ROTC. Everything is worth trying, it makes you a well rounded person. Whether I pursue activities and clubs Farragut has to offer, I'm glad to have had the experience. And the education is great! If I had not gone to Farragut, I wouldn't be nearly as matured mentally. My friends and family that have been educated elsewhere don't know things that I know, simply because they weren't taught. It's hard; I complain about the homework all the time. But at the end of the day, I'm glad I'm learning.

Senior:I absolutely love all the teachers at CHS! Every singe one of them truly cares about each student and genuinely wants them to succeed. The teachers and administrators spend so much of their time on the students so that we all can pass, or better: make an A. The building is so great as well. Even though we are currently over capacity, the school really makes it work and tries to accommodate the students. I've had an exceptional 4 years at Collierville High School.

    Merrol Hyde Magnet School

    • Hendersonville, TN
    • 138 reviews
Senior:Merrol Hyde lives up to its expectations as one of the top schools in the state of Tennessee. This past year we recieved the honor of being the top school based on test scores, and hope to be moved up to top school overall. The student to faculty ratio is great for one on one learning. The teachers are genuinely interested in helping out the students no matter what age or whether or not they're even in their class. The students are very friendly as well. Each grade is very close knit and family like as most of the students have been there since elementary. My grade - Class of 2017 - will be the first class to go K-12. I came in 5th grade and everyone in my grade welcomed me and made me feel at home. Merrol Hyde is in fact a great place to work and learn. Go Hawks!!

    Franklin High School

    • Franklin, TN
    • 332 reviews
Senior:My involvement in the Honorable Marching and Concert Band has influenced my future Degree in Music Business. The Band Program emphasizes the community, growth, maturity, perseverance, and excellence of its students. With these qualities, I was able to lead my percussion section to exceptional standards this past season. Connections with other fellow musicians, teachers, and alumni created relationships I will continue to hold for years to come.

The wide variety of academics provided by Franklin High School prepares me for my future. Classes vary in both advancement and subject. The Standard, Honors, IB, and AP courses available challenges students at a level that is suitable for the student. Personally, I appreciate the unique courses Franklin offers, such as Psychology and Music Theory. I was able to study a branch of knowledge that I could potentially continue in college.

    Dobyns-Bennett High School

    • Kingsport, TN
    • 247 reviews
Senior:I think Dobyns Bennett is a really great school. It offers plenty of challenging courses and I feel well prepared for college. The teachers who teach honors and AP courses are extremely knowledgeable and respectable. DB offers many interesting and fun clubs, and the guidance office is a great source to find scholarships and volunteer opportunities. The students here are pretty diverse and come from many different backgrounds and ethnicities. One of the best things about DB is the hour lunch period called, "Tribe Time." Students can use Tribe Time to eat lunch, study, receive tutoring, do homework, participate in clubs, or just relax.

Senior:Chattanooga High Center for Creative Arts is an accomplished magnet arts school which prepares students for possible careers in the performing arts. There are positive attributes to CCA like acceptance of diversity, supportive environments, and personal attention. However, though the arts are a significant part of CCA that is greatly admirable, the academic teachers need improvement. Some are inadequately subjected to teaching subjects that are foreign. Even through communication between students and principal, the result remains the same on the level of adequately supplied facilities.

    Hardin Valley Academy

    • Knoxville, TN
    • 269 reviews
Senior:Overall, Hardin Valley Academy is very academically oriented. They promote sports and clubs so that every student feels like they are included. The faculty is great; however, the students are very separated. Cliques are a big problem at Hardin Valley. If you are a white, relatively wealthy student, you will not have a problem with the faculty. If you are a minority and come from a different background, it is harder to connect with the faculty. The faculty is very disciplinary, rather than empathetic and supportive to the students. I believe that the Hardin Valley faculty could improve on their supportive, positive side.

    Centennial High School

    • Franklin, TN
    • 371 reviews
High School Senior:The first thing you'll notice when you walk onto campus is pride! You're in Cougar Nation, and whether it it's sports or yearbook they're confident and believe that they can achieve. As far as teachers go they are great. Even though they have over 150 students daily, they remember your name, your academic history, but also your personality. They will help you succeed in the smaller things, like passing a hard test, but also with the bigger things, like how to get into your dream college. Everyone is ambitious, whether it's in academics or athletics. Everyone is passionated about something. It's pride and ambition that makes us bond with students with common interests, and it's very rare that someone gets left behind.

High School Senior:My overall experience at Greeneville High School (GHS) has been nothing short of awesome! I have made friends and memories that I will carry with me even after I graduate. One of my many favorite experiences at GHS has been taking overnight trips with the Chorus/Advanced Chorus. GHS is unique because there is so much love and support for and in our school from parents, teachers/administrators, and fellow students. If I could do it all over, I would choose to attend Greeneville High School because while being greatly prepared for what lies ahead after high school, I have had the time of my life.

    White Station High School

    • Memphis, TN
    • 399 reviews
Senior:I love the diversity of White Station from the students to the wide range of courses offered. The teachers challenge their students with their work but in the end it helps with our learning experience. Although there is a lot of positive aspects about White Station, there are some downsides. I would like to see the restrooms be taken care of more i.e. toilet paper, soap, and paper towels. The food could also be cooked and seasoned better. Other than those two drawbacks, White Station High School is a wonderful school to go to and I am proud to be a Spartan!

    Middle College High School

    • Memphis, TN
    • 103 reviews
Senior:My experience at Middle College High School has been very rewarding. I get to attend a school with like-minded individuals. We have boasted a 100% graduation rate since inception. Students are allowed to take college courses at Christian Brothers University. We all place academics first and failure is not an option. Class sizes are small, and the teachers are vested in our success. Our principal has just been named the Principal of the Year by the state of Tennessee. I would not change one thing about my school. It is my desire that the trend continues and the school continues to produce top scholars.

    L&N STEM Academy

    • Knoxville, TN
    • 31 reviews
Junior:The L&N STEM Academy is a truly tremendous school to be able to attend. The teachers take the time to get to know their students and connect with them, resulting in more trust and engagement in the classroom. The students all support each other. They really do apply one of their STEM Habits, collaboration, in all facets of the school. All of the departments seem to work together, allowing for students to make connections and better understand material. Additionally, the school offers unique opportunities such as being able to utilize the Lawson McGee Library in downtown Knoxville, just a few minutes walk from the school.

However, despite all of the positive aspects, there some negatives. The school is in an old train station, not allowing for ample space for the amount of students they accept. While they are within the legal limits, classes get crowded they run out of chair and floor space in simple classes.

    Mt. Juliet High School

    • Mt Juliet, TN
    • 330 reviews
Senior:Throughout all 4 of my years here, I have enjoyed every bit of it. The students really are what make this school great. The teachers are always there to help too! There is something for everyone to get involved in at school whether it be sports or clubs. The only thing I would change would be the communication between the faculty/administration and the students. There were countless time where I thought "if this were communicated to us better or earlier it would have been helpful." No matter who you are, you will love MJ! #GoBears

    Fred J. Page High School

    • Franklin, TN
    • 201 reviews
Senior:My experience the past two years has been great! I switched schools in between my sophomore and junior years and it was the best decision I could make. The teachers care and want to help as much as possible and the coaches want the best for you as well. However the school is in a growing area, so it is quickly becoming crowded for such a small school.
