    Walter Johnson High School

    • Bethesda, MD
    • 343 reviews
Senior:Walter Johnson is a very good school. We have a very diverse school with many different students, all very accepting of each other. The teachers and administration are in general very friendly and helpful. If you come in with a problem, they take the time to try and help you. Not to mention that there are so many different clubs and courses to take, its difficult to choose. However, the school is overcrowded. Going through the hallways to your next class can become a battle, weaving through tons of other students in hallways that are no longer wide enough. There are so many students, it's difficult to find time with the administration to get the help. Also, depending on the courses you take, there is a hard workload. Overall its a great school, but the competitiveness can be overwhelming and the growing student body makes accessing resources and getting to class more difficult.

    Walt Whitman High School

    • Bethesda, MD
    • 153 reviews
Senior:Walt Whitman High School can get you into any college, but will suck the life out of you. Many people are very hardworking and smart, but for those of us who aren't natural born geniuses, classes can be very challenging. Students and Staff will push people to take hard classes and work even harder. The environment has a very "Work-hard, play-hard" kind of vibe.

    River Hill High School

    • Clarksville, MD
    • 239 reviews
Sophomore:I am a sophomore at RHHS and I can honestly say that my teachers are the reason our school is rated one of the best in MD. My teachers have encouraged me to succeed beyond the classroom, many of them have seen strengths in me that even I have not seen, and they have raised me up on eagles wings. A classroom experience in RHHS takes students beyond the normal classes, our teachers lead us to realms of discovery , they push the boundaries of our imagination. Every school teaches the same AP syllabus, but RHHS teachers take that same AP syllabus and make it an exciting challenge.

Senior:Ever since i came to B-CC i wonder how i would still fit in to such amazing environment considering that i was steal fresh to the to Maryland even i though I've done a year at Chevy-Chase Elementary and 2 years at Westland Middle School. But all was well. I will never forget the friendships i had formed, the love and support of the teachers and staff, playing under the Friday night lights on game days with my fellow Baron brothers, and most of all the hard work of academic success. I encourage that all future high school students to come to B-CC and experience a life changing moment of success as i did. GO BARONS!!!

    Richard Montgomery High School

    • Rockville, MD
    • 386 reviews
Junior:RM is truly a diverse and amazing school. There are a wide variety of classes for a variety of students, I personally really loved the math and science parts and took many of those classes. The teachers all seem to genuinely want students to succeed, the school can afford good materials and supplies (although the art department sometimes runs out of paint), and the students and staff are non judgemental. I am trans, and this school accommodates a preferred name and preferred pronouns, as well as letting you use the nurse's office for bathroom and locker room stuff. It's a bit of a hassle since that is the only bathroom and its out of the way from a lot of the classrooms, but it is manageable. Overall, I loved this school and learned a lot from the experience.

    Winston Churchill High School

    • Potomac, MD
    • 232 reviews
Junior:Churchill is no doubt an academically-challenged school, filled with a plethora of rigorous courses to choose from. However, the school becomes very competitive as a result, being very college-oriented. The teachers are extremely passionate when it comes to teaching, but also helpful and supportive. There are a bunch of clubs and activities to fill your afternoons, as well as different sport teams to be apart. School spirit isn't necessarily fantastic, but it's definitely better than some schools. When it comes to applying colleges, there are a lot of resources to guide you in the right direction. Overall, good school with driven students.

    Mount Hebron High School

    • Ellicott City, MD
    • 339 reviews
High School Senior:I am having a great experience here at Hebron! I like to be active as much as possible and Hebron has many clubs and activities for students. My favorite experience is definitely being active in the South Asian Club. For this club, I have performed and choreographed dances for school events with my friends. The memories from this club are unforgettable! I would choose this school again if I could do it all over because this school is very pro-diversity and the environment of the school is very welcoming.

    Montgomery Blair High School

    • Silver Spring, MD
    • 521 reviews
Senior:Montgomery blair is a very diverse school in which we all interact with one another and are considered a family. Montgomery blair is one of the best school in montgomery county and I would recommend other students to attend at Montgomery blair. The staff members and volunteers are really good on supporting us with any help we need. Our counselor are our number 1 friend that help us throughtout the years until our senior year and help us with colleges, scholarship, recommendation letters and others. The only thing I think I would change would be the quality of the food because it really isnt that well. But other than that montgomery blair is a really great school and we get to have so much fun and participate in clubs, sports and others. Its a fun school. And once your part of the family from Montgomery blair your considered a blazer.! "Go Blazers"!

    Thomas S. Wootton High School

    • Rockville, MD
    • 401 reviews
Senior:I really enjoyed attending this school! From countless activities and sports event to clubs and giving back to the community, the school has a multitude of opportunities. As a result of the growing amount of different programs and activities students are provided with, they also have many opportunities to present their leadership qualities. The school's sense of community is also very strong. There are many school events and spirit themed programs that the whole Wootton community takes part in together. Unity of the school is what it makes it feel so welcoming and open to others. If some things had to change in this school it might be adding more programs to help students get used to the heavier workload as they come in to high school. Not knowing how to study or how to plan out when to review for an exam. So if something were to be added to the school's system of teaching and learning, helping students plan out and learn time management would be it.

    Marriotts Ridge High School

    • Marriottsville, MD
    • 208 reviews
Freshman:Although I have only been attending Marriotts Ridge High School for less than two months, I have seen a lot. Before my class and I even began school there, The Student Government Association's Executive Board made sure that the transition from middle school to high school was as smooth as possible. In middle school, I was only in classes with people in my grade, whereas now, in high school, I have classes with fellow freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Despite the fact that many of us are of different ages and hail from different backgrounds, I have formed close friendships with them, especially my soccer teammates. Since soccer preseason began before school in August, I was able to form connections with people that would carry me into the school year. Although the season is now over, I still remain close friends with many of them. Overall, I feel that the beginning of my high school years has been a success.

    Urbana High School

    • Ijamsville, MD
    • 363 reviews
High School Senior:Urbana High School is usually known for their high-achieving academic programs and students and for the most part that is a correct statement. The school is extremely active and involved, along with the students, when it comes to sports and raising money for charities or for the school itself. My favorite experience would have to be cheering for the fall Football season. Though I was the only guy, everyone else had encouraged me and never gave me any hateful words or comments, and cheering is something that I will be carrying onto in college. Urbana High School is pretty unique in the aspect that the school offers the International Baccalaureate Program, which I am involved in, and the program really gives a student a "push in the right direction" for the future. Though, there is a lot of stress (too much some may say) that the program causes and management of time is key to succeed in this program and in the school itself. The students are "okay," by this I mean there are cliques in which every student must be involved in, in order for them to be considered a "real student." Overall, the atmosphere of the school is welcoming (considering the school looks like a college campus), the spirit is pretty lively, and the teachers are helpful and aid the students in any way that they can!

    Centennial High School

    • Ellicott City, MD
    • 256 reviews
High School Junior:The best aspect of the school is its engaging community. Almost every parent treats each student as their child; they are involved and support the students in their activities-- whether athletic or academic. Their encouragement brings a friendly and unique atmosphere. I remember during the junior interviews last year, a parent lent their belt to an unprepared student who was wearing inappropriate attire for his interview. Truly, I think that the parent support differentiates this school from the rest.

    Northwest High School

Niche User:Northwest high school is a very high standard school with competitive and intelligent students. The teachers and administrators do their best every day to ensure the students receive the best quality education accordingly to each and every student.

When speaking about the Advanced Placement program (AP) at Northwest high school. The professors do their very best to provide challenging, abundant, and formidable teaching. Thus, it provides the students with a more enhanced method of learning, and of course preparing them for college by giving them a intellectual understanding and feel to how college may be like for them.

    Eastern Technical High School

    • 463 reviews
Parent:I have been a member of the PTSA at ET since 2007 and still have an active role on the board. I am fortunate enough to have 4 children be able to attend ET. We like the smaller, diverse community atmosphere where value is placed on academics, engagement, and accountability. A magnet curriculum affords the opportunity for students to taste a possible career path and set college goals. The staff are committed to being available and helping their students be successful, not just academically but holistically; through sports, clubs, character development, community involvement.

Alum:It is very competitive school. Most of the students are very well rounded, taking advance classes and playing varsity sports while carrying out responsibilities as leaders of various clubs. The teachers are excellent in teaching, engaging to students, and well-knowledge in their subjects. It is also a highly spirited school where students are proud to be there and proud to represent Howard High because they often placed top in almost everything: sports, academics.

    Glenelg High School

    • Glenelg, MD
    • 145 reviews
Freshman:I went to Glenelg Highschool my freshman year. The school as a whole is full of motivated students and teachers interested in their subjects. Because it is such a large school however, I found it difficult to receive individual help and attention. The guidance community was very helpful, I found this to be the best part of the administration. While I was there, however the administration such as the principle was very uninvolved and extremely ignorant to events facing Glenelg Highschool. For example, A suicide occured in the school, and the administration neglected to give any sort of remembrance, honor, or even announcment to the students. Only a short email to the parents. The principle seemed to be absent in all aspects of the school community, and I saw very little presence of the vice principles.

    Dulaney High School

    • Timonium, MD
    • 300 reviews
Senior:Dulaney High school provided me with numerous academic opportunities to further my knowledge of my intended career (pediatric occupational therapy for special education students) by allowing me to enroll in an internship program, giving me 2 GT high school credits during my senior year. Although, Our bathroom and water situation has been on the news several times because of how poor the quality is. Our water out of fountains is brown, and the bathrooms are repulsive. Most all sports we excell to be in top of our division every year, students even transfer from private schools to attend Dulaney High just so they are able to play a sport. The club opportunities provided to us are outstanding. There is too many to count, which allows our diverse school to have countless options of an after school activity they would enjoy, which I feel is an important part of high school experience.

    Wilde Lake High School

    • Columbia, MD
    • 227 reviews
Parent:My daughter obtained a first rate education at Wilde Lake. Her Advanced Placement teachers were outstanding. They prepared her to do well on all of the AP tests. As a result, she got all 4's and 5's, earning her over a semester's worth of credit in college. She had numerous opportunities to take on leadership roles and participate in a variety of activities. Ultimately, her hard work, the outstanding teachers who prepared her well for college, and her leadership positions lead to many college admissions and offers of scholarships. Add to that mix a uniquely qualified and caring administration, and Wilde Lake is truly a top notch school.

    Rockville High School

    • Rockville, MD

Alum:Rockville High school is the second smallest public high schools in Montgomery County in Maryland, its student population. As one school, small as it may be, the people within it bring a sense of belonging to the community. Students are determined and fearless toward completing their goals. The teachers are compassionate and inspiring, both inside and outside the classroom. This school may be small but endured hardship and loss. In my time at Rockville, in the year 2013, Michelle Miller, a senior and a future Army solider, was killed in a murder-suicide by Staff Seargent Adam Arndt. Her death was devastating to her loving family, peers, and fellow students and staff. Together healing has begun. This community of people watches out for one another as no other possibly can. As alumni of this school, I am proud to have been a part of this great institution and encourage others to look to Rockville as a shining example of a model public high school.
