    River Hill High School

    • Clarksville, MD
    • 239 reviews
Sophomore:I am a sophomore at RHHS and I can honestly say that my teachers are the reason our school is rated one of the best in MD. My teachers have encouraged me to succeed beyond the classroom, many of them have seen strengths in me that even I have not seen, and they have raised me up on eagles wings. A classroom experience in RHHS takes students beyond the normal classes, our teachers lead us to realms of discovery , they push the boundaries of our imagination. Every school teaches the same AP syllabus, but RHHS teachers take that same AP syllabus and make it an exciting challenge.

High School Senior:I am having a great experience here at Hebron! I like to be active as much as possible and Hebron has many clubs and activities for students. My favorite experience is definitely being active in the South Asian Club. For this club, I have performed and choreographed dances for school events with my friends. The memories from this club are unforgettable! I would choose this school again if I could do it all over because this school is very pro-diversity and the environment of the school is very welcoming.

    Marriotts Ridge High School

    • Marriottsville, MD
    • 208 reviews
Freshman:Although I have only been attending Marriotts Ridge High School for less than two months, I have seen a lot. Before my class and I even began school there, The Student Government Association's Executive Board made sure that the transition from middle school to high school was as smooth as possible. In middle school, I was only in classes with people in my grade, whereas now, in high school, I have classes with fellow freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Despite the fact that many of us are of different ages and hail from different backgrounds, I have formed close friendships with them, especially my soccer teammates. Since soccer preseason began before school in August, I was able to form connections with people that would carry me into the school year. Although the season is now over, I still remain close friends with many of them. Overall, I feel that the beginning of my high school years has been a success.

    Centennial High School

    • Ellicott City, MD
    • 256 reviews
High School Junior:The best aspect of the school is its engaging community. Almost every parent treats each student as their child; they are involved and support the students in their activities-- whether athletic or academic. Their encouragement brings a friendly and unique atmosphere. I remember during the junior interviews last year, a parent lent their belt to an unprepared student who was wearing inappropriate attire for his interview. Truly, I think that the parent support differentiates this school from the rest.

Senior:I moved to Maryland in my senior year of high school and I was worried about my grades transferring over and meeting new people. Everyone at the school is extremely helpful and always willing to listen, I haven't felt stressed about graduating and all of my grades transferred over just fine! Wonderful school!

    Eastern Technical High School

    • Baltimore, MD
    • 463 reviews
Parent:I have been a member of the PTSA at ET since 2007 and still have an active role on the board. I am fortunate enough to have 4 children be able to attend ET. We like the smaller, diverse community atmosphere where value is placed on academics, engagement, and accountability. A magnet curriculum affords the opportunity for students to taste a possible career path and set college goals. The staff are committed to being available and helping their students be successful, not just academically but holistically; through sports, clubs, character development, community involvement.

    Howard High School

    • Ellicott City, MD
    • 347 reviews
Alum:It is very competitive school. Most of the students are very well rounded, taking advance classes and playing varsity sports while carrying out responsibilities as leaders of various clubs. The teachers are excellent in teaching, engaging to students, and well-knowledge in their subjects. It is also a highly spirited school where students are proud to be there and proud to represent Howard High because they often placed top in almost everything: sports, academics.

    Glenelg High School

    • Glenelg, MD
    • 145 reviews
Freshman:I went to Glenelg Highschool my freshman year. The school as a whole is full of motivated students and teachers interested in their subjects. Because it is such a large school however, I found it difficult to receive individual help and attention. The guidance community was very helpful, I found this to be the best part of the administration. While I was there, however the administration such as the principle was very uninvolved and extremely ignorant to events facing Glenelg Highschool. For example, A suicide occured in the school, and the administration neglected to give any sort of remembrance, honor, or even announcment to the students. Only a short email to the parents. The principle seemed to be absent in all aspects of the school community, and I saw very little presence of the vice principles.

    Dulaney High School

    • Timonium, MD
    • 300 reviews
Senior:Dulaney High school provided me with numerous academic opportunities to further my knowledge of my intended career (pediatric occupational therapy for special education students) by allowing me to enroll in an internship program, giving me 2 GT high school credits during my senior year. Although, Our bathroom and water situation has been on the news several times because of how poor the quality is. Our water out of fountains is brown, and the bathrooms are repulsive. Most all sports we excell to be in top of our division every year, students even transfer from private schools to attend Dulaney High just so they are able to play a sport. The club opportunities provided to us are outstanding. There is too many to count, which allows our diverse school to have countless options of an after school activity they would enjoy, which I feel is an important part of high school experience.

    Wilde Lake High School

    • Columbia, MD
    • 227 reviews
Parent:My daughter obtained a first rate education at Wilde Lake. Her Advanced Placement teachers were outstanding. They prepared her to do well on all of the AP tests. As a result, she got all 4's and 5's, earning her over a semester's worth of credit in college. She had numerous opportunities to take on leadership roles and participate in a variety of activities. Ultimately, her hard work, the outstanding teachers who prepared her well for college, and her leadership positions lead to many college admissions and offers of scholarships. Add to that mix a uniquely qualified and caring administration, and Wilde Lake is truly a top notch school.

    Hammond High School

    • Columbia, MD
    • 373 reviews
Senior:Hammond High School has been a great fixture in my life for the past 4 years. Ever since I started, it has never failed to live up to its motto "Where People Are Important" because we are hands down the most diverse school in the county. Even though we're a relatively small school, it feels large because of all the opportunities one can pursue while attending. With the sports, clubs, activities, the participation and school spirit is truly unmatchable. Academically, the classes aren't so hot if you only take regular, but if you apply yourself and take honors, GT & AP courses, it is truly beneficial. The things I would change about this school is the building size because it's far too small for the amount of people that roam around, and the fact that anyone can walk in at any time because of a lack of a security system. Overall, Hammond is great and I recommend any student and teacher to attend.

High School Senior:I have thoroughly enjoyed my high school experience at Carver Center. Dut to us all having a talent, the respect level and creativity of the student body is supendous. This is something most schools in Baltimore do not contain. The school also holds a strong emphasis on unity and having a safe space to be yourself. Hence we have a high tolerance dress code as well as uncensored art work around the building. My only concern about the school is I feel sometimes the administration tends to turn a blind eye to the people who cause problems. In hopes of maintainimg a strong reputation, Carver center doesnt always handle bullying, harrassment and other controversial problems as strictly as they should. However overall the school feels like home and has allowed me to find different forms of art to express myself. Although every school has problems this school is definitely one of the best!

    Towson High School

    • Towson, MD
    • 337 reviews
Alum:I really enjoyed attending Towson High! I have seen great changes since I've left, like the allowance of book bags to be carried around. While the school is a little over populated, it is not bothersome. Towson High has diversity, wonderful teachers, and refreshing school spirit. Towson also has great security and protecting officers ready to help whenever. Overall, I would not have chosen to go to any other high school. Towson was a crucial aid to my adulthood and in preparing me for college.

High School Senior:Academics are very emphasized at Western Tech. Students are all extremely competitive with each other to get an A. We take multiple AP classes during our junior and senior years, for some people even sophomore year. The AP classes are extremely difficult and challenging. There are constant morning and lunch tutoring and coach classes in all subjects. The workload is difficult sometimes, but it is preparing us for college so I try to practice managing my time and limit procrastination to the best of my ability. When I see alumni come back and say how they are getting A's in college I am only more motivated to get into a good college just to come back and say how good I am doing in college!

Many of my teachers are Catonsville High almumni themselves, even the principal! The faculty all work hard to support us students, like a family. I feel comfortable talking to any administrator or teacher with my problems and they are always ready to lend a helping hand. Students can freely express themselves here and the level of diversity is Catonsville is outstanding. Catonsville High is only getting better and better with new clubs and events, with high student attendance! I'm proud of my school, and proud to be a Comet!

    Century High School

    • Sykesville, MD
    • 277 reviews
Senior:I have cherished my time as a Century High School student overall. Most teachers at this school truly care about student success and will take time before and after school to help you in their class or even with other activities, such as college applications. The teachers at Century also do a good job at exploring and truly educating you about the subjects they teach. The extracurriculars equal and may even surpass the academic benefits. There are numerous clubs, leadership opportunities, performing arts, and sports to participate in. Sometimes the motives of raising school testing scores overlap true student growth and education, but overall it has been a very positive experience for me.

    Baltimore Polytechnic Institute

    • Baltimore, MD
    • 463 reviews
Senior:Attending Poly for the last three years has been amazing! High school itself is going to be a roller coaster so it's important that you have a strong support system to help you through it. At Poly I was introduced to so many networking opportunities that whenever things were looking down I had a way out. I met people who connected me to paid internships and I received a high quality education. Most importantly I was influenced to use my resources at Poly to give back to my community and to other students at other schools in Baltimore City who didn't have similar resources.

I have great relationships with my teachers and even after the course has ended, they are always open to helping me out. Oakland Mills has helped me prosper in life and has given me an experience I'll never forget.

    Hereford High School

    • Parkton, MD
    • 178 reviews
Senior:Hereford has many excellent teachers that have made an incredible contribution to not only my readiness for college, but also my attitude towards learning and my self-confidence. My main critique of Hereford is how sports-centered it is - arts receive much less attention and funding than sports, and every year the music department has to turn away a few students because the funding to accommodate them isn't available. The administration also tends to get counterproductively involved in the learning process, which takes away from instruction time.

    Severna Park High School

    • Severna Park, MD
    • 301 reviews
Junior:Severna Park is an academically- advanced high school. Many students maintain great grades, with the additional of school sports and other extracurricular activities. Realizing the busy schedule of high school students, many teachers are very helpful and understanding when it comes to assignments and tests. The school has a relatively positive teacher to student relationship. However, the school atmosphere is sometimes challenging; everyone pressures each other to exceed in everything they do, and the stress can quickly accumulate.

High School Senior:Overall, I love my high school. Almost all of my teachers so far have been really great! Learning from them can be a real pleasure. I particularly love the science classes! I love the variety. I have enjoyed being in my math classes because my teachers teach in a way that I understand really well. The teachers are really nice and some of them can be really funny. They make learning fun! My latin teacher always knows these random facts that are always really fun to listen to. The workload is a lot, but reasonable for the AP classes that I take.

    • 142 reviews
Sophomore:The opportunities in this school are amazing! We have the career and tech center close by and our guidence counselers are very good at finding internships for seniors. The teachers are very good at their jobs as well! The only issue with this school is the budget and the fact that the school is overpopulated. The teachers themselves are not getting paid nearly enough as well.
