I love the small school atmosphere at Random Lake High. Every teacher knows you on a personal level, and cares about your development. Also, Random Lake sets itself apart with the opportunities it has that most other small schools don't. We have tons of different classes and clubs, as well as excellent athletics. Our facilities are way above schools twice our size. Overall, Random Lake is an excellent school because of its small school atmosphere and big school opportunities.
The best part about RLHS is that you have the opportunity to "do it all." There is a surprisingly high number of AP offerings considering the school's size. It's entirely feasible/manageable to be involved in multiple sports, clubs, music organizations, student leadership, and theater... everyone does everything and the schedules are very accommodating to keep all programs running/successful.
The class sizes are small (i.e. largest class is generally a choral class with around 40 students). Most academic classes I participated in ranged from 5-25 students. This, along with block scheduling, helps teachers really focus on student learning in both lecture and discussion/lab/work time.

Teachers are easily able to work one-on-one with students. Very small--two hallways of classrooms--but is easy to get involved in multiple activities. Offers quite a few AP classes and are adding more. Downsides are how fast gossip spreads, the lack of different faces, and the connection between the High school, middle school, and elementary school (which I'm sure is a positive for some). Otherwise, I'm going into my senior year and have enjoyed Random Lake since Pre-K.
