I don’t consider myself a slacker so my experience with the teachers is very good. So far, I have loved my teachers. Some more than others. Some teachers I have had are very open on how if we have problems with students or anything at all that they’re available to talk to. The campus is actually pretty clean compared to other schools. The school managed to actually get ranked one of the cleanest. The students in your surroundings are decent. They’re usually the ones that ruin the experience. I haven’t had much problems with students cause I stay in my lane. I do warn that the bathrooms aren’t the cleanest and most friendly. People go in to smoke so you might walk into someone’s nic sesh. Oh yea the theater program is amazing! I love the teacher and you get to meet so many good people! Rancho definitely has given me a great high school experience! If you’re into theater, band, color guard, etc, you will LOVE rancho. That’s my opinion on it!
The students there are really accepting and accommodating. Anybody can be anybody. The teachers are great and put lots of effort into their classes(obviously there are a few less than desirable ones but that’s at every school). The ASB students also put many hours into making the school as fun as possible. The sports teams are great however Rancho puts most of their money into football so it leaves some of the other sports with old jerseys or broken equipment but it never stays that way for long! Those teams always get the fundraisers they need. This school also has great band opportunities. Band is always practicing and the band kids seem like a really tight-knit group. There’s colorguard, tons of different clubs, many class options and the counselors are pretty great too. We also have a College and Career Center on campus and it’s very helpful for students deciding on going to college but need some guidance. Overall, great school.
At first my mother wasn't too sure about Rancho and it's reputation, but when time came for my mother to choose a highschool, she went with her gut an put me in Rancho. She could've chosen Technology highschool, yet she went ahead and did the opposite. But it was the best decision she made since I met two of my greatest friends, enjoyed the company of many wonderful teachers, as well as the music program helped me overcome my many problems I faced. Ranging from depression, turrets, anxiety, and ADHD. Rancho for the first time in 2018 my senior year of highschool, was recognized as a school that achieved the most students to partake and go above an beyond taking AP and honors classes. I was one of those people! So if it wasn't for Rancho Cotate and my mom in picking that highschool, I would be here today pursuing a degree in education helping other students reach their potential.
