I love Rancho, reasoning because I’ve developed so many friendships and amazing bonds with the teachers/ staff. The vibes are truly welcoming and chill, everyone has each others back. My favorite memory will always be the one when the AVID junior class went to the Bay Area to look at the college campuses. We visited Channel Islands, Monterrey Bay, Santa Barbara, Berkeley, Stanford and San Fran state university. This was an eye opening experience for me and all my AVID family (friends). Rancho has the best organizations for all classes, ages, grades, gender, nationality, culture and preferences. To be honest my experience was always a 10/10!

During my time in Rancho Alamitos, I've learned to persevere, mature, and become independent. With the guidance of school staffs, I was able to push through my anxieties, confusion, and self-doubt. The teachers are willing to lend a helping hand whether it 's schoolwork, trouble at home, or help for college. From my experience, students and faculties collaborate with each other without racial boundaries or any type of segregation. This is especially seen in school sports, as different ethnicity work together to win championships. I do Track and Field it is one of the most diverse sports not only due to race, but also because all sports done with their season come to participate. I was encouraged by peers to do and commit in a sport, which taught me many life lessons. My overall experience with Rancho Alamitos High School was excellent because it shaped me to become a more confident and outgoing person.
Personally, I really enjoy Rancho. The one thing that I was extremely anxious about was if I could make friends because all of my close friends were going to a different high school from me. Immediately, the students were very friendly. I have befriended so many people at Rancho and Rancho has forced me to come out of my timid personality into someone who is fairly positive and talkative. The staff are all friendly and supportive. Some teachers are always checking up on students' mental health and will talk privately if they have noticed your change in mood out of their own concern. I think the only real problem I and many other students seem to have is proper tutoring after school, and it is most likely because many of us don't have time or are too terrified to ask for help due to our fear of seeming unintelligent.
