Rampart High School Reviews
Rating 3.9 out of 5 490 reviews
Rampart was overall a good school for me. The academics were great and most teachers were too! I loved the block schedule. The only complaints I have about this school is the sports programs and strictness. As a former member of soccer, basketball, and track teams, I would only recommend soccer here. There is a lot of favoritism and discrimination in the other programs that I did not appreciate, especially in my senior year. The school also dissed out huge punishments for ridiculous things. For example, my brother was suspended for recording a fight on his phone. A racial slur was used in class and that student was not suspended.
The IB curriculum is, in my opinion, the best system of learning being utilized in American schools. It truly challenged me to fink further than just memorizing regurgitating facts. Rather than punishing students for relying on modern day technology, the school recognizes the utility they provide. By encouraging students to use these technologies, while also challenging them to think for themselves, students become able to properly use all the data at their fingertips to come to their own conclusions.
I have really enjoyed my time at Rampart, and I know others have as well. I know there is always someone on the staff who is willing to help me and listen to me if I have questions or concerns. Although I haven't liked all of my teachers, some of the best and most supportive teachers I know are from this school. I also really enjoy the number of foreign students attend the school, and how diverse the student body is.
