Ramona Opportunity High School Reviews

Ramona is not just a regular continuation, it is a school where girls are given an opportunity to advance or get the extra academic help they need. Most of these girls come for different reasons, but mainly we get released juvenile, pregnant teen moms, and those with medical or mental health reasons. We have on site mental health providers who help the girls when stressed or just an extra hand. Here at Ramona we besides our academic focus we all support one another when it comes to our mental health. We may be a small school with an average of fifty girls in the school and three teachers, everyone knows everyone and we become a family. Ramona gave me the opportunity to be able to graduate even after my supposed year. Although we would love to see student interaction with sports or maybe lunch games or a leadership group, a few more field trips.
This school is a school that gives underserved female students an opportunity to better themselves before returning to their home school. It is a school that does more than teach but also focuses on the whole student, including emotional health. The staff really care about the students and love their jobs.
About five years ago, the school became accredited so that the students may be able to apply to a university following graduating from this opportunity school. Not many alternative schools can claim the same thing.

The teachers and staff really get to know their students better because the class size is small. They offer after school tutoring, or you set up a meeting during lunch or nutrition.
