Ralph Waldo Emerson School No. 58 Reviews

1 review
I live across from the street. This school is on the bottom of academic achievement and high school preparedness, year after year, regardless of who is there. They aren't setting any of the kids up for success with secondary education. I don't expect everyone to go to college, but most of these kids fail every year to have acceptable levels or math and reading. Yet they get passed and fall through the cracks. Closing would eliminate an underperforming school that drags down the reputation of IPS. The kids deserve an ideal learning environment. Playground is on the roof of the gym, the school is landlocked so no room to run. This school has a lot of traffic, noise and litter. Building isn't monitored afterhours, so kids go behind the school to vandalize and smoke cigs\vape. Parents don't care about the neighbors, they take the entire alley for 30 minutes+ and I can't get a few feet to reach my house.
