Rainier Beach High School Reviews
Rating 3.88 out of 5 98 reviews
Rainier Beach High School is a great school with a diverse student body and dedicated teachers. I appreciate the school's focus on preparing students for college and career success, as well as its commitment to providing extracurricular activities such as sports and clubs. One thing I would like to see change is an increased emphasis on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. With the world becoming more and more technology-driven, it's important for students to have access to STEM education to be able to succeed in the future. Additionally, I would also like to see more resources for mental health and emotional support for students, in order to help them navigate the challenges of high school and beyond.
I love the diversity at Rainier Beach High School and we have great teachers who support and understand us. We get outside college readiness support and advice from our teachers and counselors. We also the IB program which looks good on our college resumes. What could improve is the facility itself, It has been renovated in decades. Our administration could improve in terms of being more involved with student feedback.
During my experience attending Rainier Beach High School, I quickly learned to appreciate how enriched we are with culture and diversity. I have always viewed RBHS as a home rather than a school, due to my long history within the Rainier Beach community. I grew up in the school itself and am beyond grateful for all of the memories and the sense of belonging it brought me. For those looking for a second home, Rainier Beach is the place to go. Not only do those who attend reflect the longstanding population of the community it serves but the staff in this building truly care and are willing to stay alongside you until you reach the finish line. Often, when students who have had unpleasant experiences at other school's Rainier Beach is the place they come to, to get back on their feet and I believe Rainier Beach High School is more than a safe haven or village but also a place that cultivates a 'diamond in the rough'.
