We moved to Asheville in 2012 and discovered Pre-K for our 3 year-old son at Rainbow Community School. We have been absolutely thrilled with our son's education so far- he's in 6th grade! Originally a child enrolled in outside physical, occupational, and speech therapies, we had concerns about how he would handle school and how his school would handle him. Rainbow has shown an unconditional supporting, loving, nurturing, intellectually stimulating, and absolutely fulfilling experience for him and our family. I could not say enough good things about this school- it is one of two prime reasons we have stayed in Asheville through thick and thin (the other being extended family!). We will always have so much gratitude to Rainbow for helping us raise our son...and we have faith the foundation he has been given through this school will carry him on to a truly successful, well-rounded life.
I feel absolutely blessed to part of this incredible community. This is much more than just an high quality school for kids that supports the development of the whole child. It is also a strong, caring, compassionate, and loving community. What a gift!
Rainbow has been an excellent school for our child. They are able to teach to her sensitive nature. We wish Rainbow had a high school.
Was very disappointed with the art program considering it is supposed to be such a creative school. The academics were sub par. My child was really far behind when we sent him off to a different school. Since it is a private school they do not offer services to help a child in need with counseling or tutoring unless you pay for it. Great playground and outdoor space.
I am fortunate to have both of my children attend this incredible school. As soon as you step on campus you feel you are in a special place. The teachers are truly engaged with each child. Our family loves that Rainbow helps the whole child develop- emotionally, physically, artistically and academically. I fully recommend taking a tour of this exceptional school!
The environment they’re cultivated on campus is fun, interesting, and welcoming. The 7 domains model is amazing and super inspiring!
I wish everyone had access to “education” like this - it’s so much more than traditional education!
Everyone from the Board to the preschoolers is immersed in a community that focuses on spiritual principles, connection to each other, to self, and to nature, intellectual rigor, emotional intelligence, exploration, integrity, belonging, service... the list goes on and on.
I’m so grateful every time I’m on campus or even just getting a Rainbow email!!
