Quince Orchard High School Reviews
Rating 3.91 out of 5 456 reviews
This school has changes that can be made such as qualification of staff. Security often avoids dealing with issues such as students roaming the halls during classes. The school psychologist listens and assists with consultations, but no expected advice is usually given. Finally, the lunch policy changes far too often which causes unnecessary problems between students and staff.
Contrary to these various cons, the pros outweigh them.
There is vast diversity among staff and students and chances to meet amazingly helpful mentors. Teachers’ availability outside of class is obliging and extensions on due dates are usually flexible. Options for clubs and honors societies is top tier. There are career pathways and several options for classes each year. AP classes and college readiness programs are available for scholars. It’s a large school, and thankfully has tons of staircases to efficiently get around. Plenty of sports are offered, and with terrific team support from students & coaches!

During my four years, I got the opportunity to meet my closest friends through classes and activities that aligned with my interests. However, the worst parts I dealt with were how political some of my teachers were, and how their beliefs sometimes made my peers and me uncomfortable. Despite this, those teachers were inevitably removed if enough students brought attention to them. If there was anything I could change about the school, I would wish to see less segregation and discrimination among minorities and more positive interactions between them.
Overall, it was a very good four years. Most of my teachers were wonderful- save the few- and the classes were not only useful, but fun. I love how much the school has to offer. My main issues are with building maintenance, lack of response to social injustice when brought to admin by students, and the class size minimum. The minimum makes it so some higher level classes can't run due to lack of students signing up, which then messes up the schedules if students who actually want/need to take said classes. The maintenance is mostly in the cleanliness and air quality if the building, which consistently was an issue for my health. There also were so many social inequities that were brought to admin (not directly to the principal) that were either never resolved or took ages to even be investigated. Other than that, I would say Quince Orchard is a fantastic school, education and extracurricular -wise.
