Our child is a fourth grader at Queen of Peace school, and has been there since first grade. We toured several private schools in our area when kiddo was entering elementary school, and the environment and people (students and families alike) at Queen of Peace were hands-down the most warm and welcoming from the very start. In addition, we have found the academics at QPS top-notch. Kiddo is thriving in his studies, and the extra-curricular programming in the environmental sciences, art, music and PE has been excellent. I am grateful the kids get 3 recesses each day and several field trips each year to plays/musical performances and outdoor education locations (the Hatfield Marine Science Center being a notable one for us). The campus is transforming into an environmental science lab in itself - from gardens to worm bins and beyond! Kids are encouraged to get their hands dirty and learn experientially. We also appreciate the focus on kindness and caring for others. Love this school.
QofP is committed to help form the whole child... socially, emotionally and academically. Very involved parents and dedicated teachers work together to accomplish this. Our commitment to outdoor education is an area that continues to grow and that the students love. We are also committed to growing the faith of our students and instilling in them the importance of service to their community. We have PE daily as well as music and art classes that are part of the curriculum. We offer after school programs that include robotics, environmental Ed and a Kindness club. We're a small school where everyone knows and supports each other. A great place to learn!
Queen of Peace School offers numerous opportunities for our children to explore their world and make discoveries. They come home from school excited about what they are learning and they apply their knowledge in their daily activities and conversations.
The pre-k program is a fantastic foundation for social development and hands-on learning. Kindergarten through fifth grade have a strong E-STEM program, allowing them to go on multiple environmental field study trips each year.
Their after school programs and clubs have expanded tremendously to include such clubs as Eco, VEX robotics, orchestra, choir, gardening, dance, and yoga to name a few.
