I’m graduating from Quabbin in 2 days, and from being in this district from Kindergarten, I have times where I’m mad at Quabbin, but overall I will be crying at my graduation. The community (compared to other schools) is phenomenal. There are a few teachers who aren’t the greatest, but you get that everywhere. My only real complaint about Quabbin is I wish they offered better entertaining electives, like cooking, building, etc. and that they listened to their students about which classes they want. Unfortunately Quabbin is losing its best principal this year, Mr. Devine. However, Quabbin is definitely the best public school within the area.
As a rising Junior (Class of 2024), and having been at Quabbin since the 8th grade, I have had a good experience here. Most counselors and administrators truly want what is best for the student (given the student is willing to work WITH them). The same applies for teachers, there are only a few which will not work with the students (a given for any school). The school (due to location) lacks in diversity. There is exceptional academics (Quabbin participates in the IB program). As well as exceptional art programs.
It's a pretty average school. sports are decent, school lunches could be better but they're decent for what it is. Middle and high school are connected so middle schoolers can walk in the high school at any moment. It's a pretty small school so there's not a ton do to compared to other high schools like my last one. Overall It's just average and you can make some friends here depending on what you're like.
