Putnam prepares you for a career in the trades rather than for college. However, I'm currently in college because of the help of my teachers and guidance counselors. They really do go the extra mile if you approach them and tell them your plans (or lack thereof). With a good student government, I think you can have great memories of Putnam. Some teachers are tough, but they grow on you after four years of seeing them around. They're very strict on fights and quickly handle any drama going on.
The school looks like a mall, it has a bank, a school store, and a cafe for visitors. It has a whole kitchen and dining area for culinary students, large garages for Carpentry, Auto Mech, and more. There are trades from Retail and Early Child Care to IT. If you're a hands-on person and want to have a close experience to the trades, Putnam is the perfect balance of Academic and Vocational education.

My experience at Putnam Vocational-Technical Academy was the best. It was my first choice since I was in middle school. The thing I liked most about Putnam is the vocational area which is a good start to experience hands on skill and finish high school with a certificate. I wouldn't change anything about Putnam they have good skills for students in order to achieve success in high school but I would definitely add more strict rules.
What I liked about Putnam Vocational-Technical Academy is the friendliness of teachers and staff. They know how to talk to kids not just as students but as people. However, what I would like to see change at the school is the environment the students created. Many students skipped class, wanted to change classes but couldn’t, and many students failed or held low grades. I wish more clubs were there to help, or tutoring occurred more often.
