My experience was sort of limited to a degree, due to Covid 19. I spent almost 2 years of high school distance learning, for which time the teachers and staff were very accommodating. Upon return, my senior year, it was great! Given the times and current situation, we as a community still managed to come together and create a memorable experience. I greatly appreciate the value and humility that was instilled during my time at PCN and will always continue to support.
I really enjoyed my 4 years at PCN. I made a lot of friends, had amazing teachers every year, and graduated as a valedictorian. There’s plenty for students to get involved in. PCN is amazing in the fine arts, and I could always tell those teachers really loved what they do. Principals and counselors are kind and always willing to help. I never had any problems with other students, but of course fights are bound to happen anywhere. I felt like the admin succeeded at reducing student conflict from the time between my freshman year and senior year (2019-2023). I never felt unsafe at PCN. As a graduate, I can’t imagine having gone anywhere else and I wouldn’t change anything.
Putnam City North Highschool is a decent highschool. There are some teachers who don't actually teach and just assign work on Google classroom. Though, the teachers who actually do teach do so very well.
The water fountains need to have the filters changed, they are always on yellow or red which is not good for students health. Many people bring their own water so they're not dehydrated during the school day.
The lunches are ok, they are better than the years prior I have spent in district. The options for lunch are pasta, pizza, sandwiches, and nachos. The options that are healthier are there, but scarce. They took away the parfaits which were a healthier option.
The counselors are nice and helpful. The principals, teachers, and officers are also kind if you get to know them. As long as you don't get on their bad side, they treat you with a lot of respect. They are respectful even when you mess up, as long as it's not too bad of a mistake.
Overall PCN is an average highschool.
