The school environment is welcoming! If you walk in looking for a certain student anyone on campus can help you find them, since we are all close. The school is more like a family, we all come together when we need to and its amazing. On top of that it is small so it's so easy to get help from staff and teachers. They care so much that some teachers even stay until 8pm to make sure the student has gone home safe or they stay to make sure a student is able to understand the work as well as turn in a scholarship/school application.

PUC Lakeview does extremely well in academics and allows students to easily connect with teachers and other students. The teachers are always available to help the students and genuinely care about their success. However, the school needs to improve in their variety of extracurricular activities. There are few clubs and sports. The school is very limited and does not offer a true high school experience.
I have been with the PUC Charter school system since 6th grade. I have to say they have always been clearly committed to their PUC mission (Partnerships to Uplift Communities). Their structure is very focused on preparing students for college, the college counselors talk us through the entire process and introduce us it in the beginning of 9th grade. From what I have experienced, the teachers here are actually passionate about their job and care about the education of every student. At the same time, because the school size is so small ( there's only about 400 students) there are not many honors or advanced courses available. From what I can recall, there's only about 5 AP classes being offered, so there are not many options. Overall, it's a good school and definitely better than most of the other public schools in the area.
