Cals is a small school so I didn't experience the high school experience of having field trips, rallies, a senior trip, and more. It is a charter school so they aren't directly funded by the government which is affected me because we don't receive the right resources for us. Also, students are way too babied when Cals is supposed to be a "College Prep" by the teachers mostly with this upcoming generation who just rebel because they think it's "cool". However, I enjoyed that there is more interaction with the teachers during class and how I was able to take several college classes at school for free. I would've preferred for there to be more clubs because it helps for applications and resumes. During my time at this school, I can say that there is much work needed if they want their students to succeed in the real world.

I am a current junior at this school and I have been coming here since I was in 6th grade. There are multiple pros and cons to this school but nonetheless i’m pretty content here. The relationships with students, teachers, and staff is amazing. Everyone knows each other because of the small school size therefore we are more connected with each other and we show more support for each other. On the other hand, the school is awfully small and it does rob you of your high school experience. Homecoming and Prom are not as exciting as they are at other schools and sports are limited. Students do not have access to many extra curricular activities and we do not have a gym or major buildings on our school grounds. We are not offered Advanced Placement classes but we are offered college level courses. Overall, the school can improve but if you like going to a simplistic school, you will love PUC CALS Early College High School.
Attending this school there has been some ups and downs. The academics are good, but can be made more fair and realistic. The teachers and administration working here are great because they truly care for the students. At the time I stood here as I furthered on to higher grade status I seen more flaws. The lunch is poor and there is dangerous safety concerns occurring on campus. Putting all the negatives to the side, there is a really good positive to take away from this school, which is that this school gives students various amounts of resources. Things ranging from college knowledge and readiness. Overall, pretty well formed school organization.
