Southwest is a pretty good school in academics and not so good at sports. We have excellent teachers that are willing to cooperate with every student differently. We aren't that diverse because this is the valley, we are mostly Mexican here. The classrooms aren't too big, but they aren't that small either. Administration could be a little better in handling situations without panicking or falling under the pressure of other staff. The securities are pretty cool, they will have a conversation with you but won't let you skip class which is what most security guards do in schools. The food honestly is not that good. Food taste like a regular public high school foods all over the country. Me, personally, I would mostly eat the fruit because we have a salad bar open to anyone who wants to go. During lunch we are allowed to go outside, but we cannot leave campus unless you're a senior and have connections with people from the office and the securities.A lot of people, love it including me.

I’m a junior at southwest highschool and I believe that it’s quite a unique school cause there are some students that could care less about the academics but live for the sports and there’s people like me where I’m trying to be the best I can In the academics and not into the sports. I’m currently a junior and I’m taking college classes which is pretty great. My experience with this public school is very much different to my other school which was a private school. I wanted to leave my private school life so that I could have more freedom with my choices and and to actually have collage classes which I got that and I’m loving it. But I am having trouble with my counselor, I don’t know she doesn’t seem like she cares and I feel like I’m the last person on her list . Other than that I truly love the school and the freedom I have.
My four years in high school were all great. Thanks to my teachers and the friendships that I made. I was in multiple clubs, I even started one myself my senior year, the recycling club. I also got the opportunity to experience the idea of college as well. Psja gives students the chance to take college classes and finish early. not only do they have the basics but all sorts of college classes. From the health, business and law field to art, cosmetic and culinary field. Not to mention the culture, we have bilingual classes and had some exchange students from German and China as well.
